Editorial Reviews

Review

The infamous DJ Keoki is back with a brand new DJ mix album of epic proportions!

Keokiclash features tracks by some of the hottest artists in electro music including Miss Kitten, Felix Da Housecat, Golden Boy, Waldorf, Chicks On Speed and many more!

As one of the world s most popular DJs, Keoki has sold over a million albums and helped make the American club scene what it is today!

It s been almost three years since Keoki released a DJ mix album!

How many DJs can claim to have sold a million records? How many can claim to have been on the cover of such lauded publications as Rolling Stone, Mixer, URB, BPM and others? How many have had two Top 5 records on the Billboard dance chart? How many have played every state in the continental US? How many have performed at private parties for Debbie Harry, Prince, David Lee Roth, Daniel Ash, Marilyn Manson and Morrisey? How many can take credit for the NYC club kid explosion in the early 90s, an explosion of culture and flamboyance that would forever change the face of raves and clubbing in the US and Canada? How many can genuinely claim responsibility for the creativity and size of the current US dance scene?

Only one can claim all of these. Keoki.

KeokiClash continues the legend that is DJ Keoki, the electro based sound that is rocking dancefloors throughout the world, uniquely interpreted by Keoki, a sound that not only reflects the emerging club movement, but also shows why after nearly 10 years at the very echelon of club culture, Keokie continues, through his flamboyance, musical knowledge and technical ability, to be a formidable force in the US dance music scene. Forget the pretenders, the bandwaggoners; this is the real deal, brought to you by the most successful DJ in American clubbing history...DJ Keoki! --Cleopatra Records

5.0 out of 5 stars Keokiclash is the electronic Nevermind The Bollocks, November 22, 2003
This review is from: Keokiclash (Audio CD)
It's like Old Punk at a rave!
So straight forward about an uncaring world.
"Madame Hollywood" and "Fashion Rules" so reminds me
of the Circle Jerk's "Beverly Hills"
"The Virus" reminds me of Black Flag's "Depression" and
"Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie"
And though "Window Shopping In The Mirror" and
"Freiburg 3.0" does not remind of any specific Punk
riff and is more truer to some of the riffs in the "Happy 2b Harcore" series, it is still expressing some social despair or issue. As if all that dance and drugs is tearing the singers of those two songs apart. A true testament to The Clubkids and
to latter-period New Wave and Old Punk clubgoers.

A must buy!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Clash, October 5, 2003
By
This review is from: Keokiclash (Audio CD)
This sounds unlike anything that I've ever heard Keoki do, and I love it! A friend of mine who has also liked Keoki for years didn't care for it too much. I think that it's a really diverse collection of sounds that come together to create one of the best albums that he has put together since Disco Death Race 2000. There really isn't a bad song on the whole album. Buy it, enjoy it, share it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst album I have ever heard!, November 29, 2004
By
This review is from: Keokiclash (Audio CD)
This album is more punk then techno, and the techno that is present is of poor quality. I discarded my copy and never looked back. I love Keoki, but this album makes me not want to buy anymore of his albums.
