5.0 out of 5 stars Keokiclash is the electronic Nevermind The Bollocks
It's like Old Punk at a rave!
So straight forward about an uncaring world.
"Madame Hollywood" and "Fashion Rules" so reminds me
of the Circle Jerk's "Beverly Hills"
"The Virus" reminds me of Black Flag's "Depression" and
"Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie"
And though "Window Shopping In...

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst album I have ever heard!
This album is more punk then techno, and the techno that is present is of poor quality. I discarded my copy and never looked back. I love Keoki, but this album makes me not want to buy anymore of his albums.

It's like Old Punk at a rave!

"Madame Hollywood" and "Fashion Rules" so reminds me
of the Circle Jerk's "Beverly Hills"
"The Virus" reminds me of Black Flag's "Depression" and
"Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie"
And though "Window Shopping In The Mirror" and
"Freiburg 3.0" does not remind of any specific Punk
riff and is more truer to some of the riffs in the "Happy 2b Harcore" series, it is still expressing some social despair or issue. As if all that dance and drugs is tearing the singers of those two songs apart. A true testament to The Clubkids and
to latter-period New Wave and Old Punk clubgoers.

A must buy!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Clash, October 5, 2003

This sounds unlike anything that I've ever heard Keoki do, and I love it! A friend of mine who has also liked Keoki for years didn't care for it too much. I think that it's a really diverse collection of sounds that come together to create one of the best albums that he has put together since Disco Death Race 2000. There really isn't a bad song on the whole album. Buy it, enjoy it, share it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sex drugs and rock'n'roll... It's over., February 23, 2005

When I first played this album, I thought it was kindof overdone, the sounds not blending well and the vocals too frequent and random... however, humorous at times. After listening to it I got the feeling that Keoki made this mix as sortof a tribute to some old friends... drag queens trippin' balls, tweak'd out club kids, or heroin addicted fashion models... the drug vibe is very strong. If you fit the above, and you're into electro, then goshdarnit buy this album! Don't be fooled by the poor intro, the album really pick up and reaches it's 'climax' in the middle. Best tracks: Zombie Nation - Unload; Waldorf - You're My Disco (New Romantic Mix); Zombie Nation feat. Divine (God love her!) - Native Love.

5.0 out of 5 stars KEOKICLASH = Electronic Genius, August 19, 2003

He's Back......and bigger and better than ever. This mixed CD shows us Keoki in his best form, yet.
Exploring the new sound of electro, the track selection is flawless, the mixing is supurb, and the overall mood of the disc is that of the best parties of the future.
There have been a slew of recent releases exploiting the "electro-clash" genre, and it is very clear why this CD is entitled KEOKICLASH (and not once is called an "electroclash" comp.). Thanks to the unnecessary silliness, and overall stupidity of most recent "electroclash" compilations, there is an ever increasing backlash being created. This CD mix should not be confused with the trend, and should not be lumped in with the garbage.

It never once evokes the words, or cheezy "novelty" of what others have translated the genre to be. This is "up front" , intelligent party music, presented in a mix that will change everything people think that dance music is supposed to be.

Let me be honest....the last couple of Keoki albums have left me somewhat dissapointed, but the man is ON with this release. These are future sounds for future people, mixed by one of the greats of our time.

Forget tee time with larry.....THIS ONE IS THE DEAL !!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Sound for Keoki!, August 19, 2003

Keoki has found a sound that fits him perfectly. He has evolved with every step of electronic music, if not innovated it. He is a leader in the electronic scence and it puzzles me that more people have not jumped on the Keoki wagon. From Club Kid decadence to electroclash, Keoki is a master. This mix CD is different than his previous mixes, but worth every minute. This CD almost sounds like a continuation of Disco Death Race. I can't wait until a release of any new original material. He is an amazing showman live, and it shows on all his CDs, this one included. You find yourself getting wrapped up in every track! Keoki is a God!

5.0 out of 5 stars KEOKI GONE CLASH???, August 14, 2003
This review is from: Keokiclash (Audio CD)
THERE ARE CURRENTLY A VAST NUMBER OF 'ELECTRO' CD'S OUT THERE THAT ARE TRYING TO CASH IN AT EXPENSE OF WHAT USED TO BE AN UNDERGROUND MOVEMENT, BUT, THERE IS NOT A SINGLE CD THAT IS AS GOOD OR FLAWLESS AS KEOKICLASH.

I WAS VERY AMAZED THAT HE STAYED TRUE TO HIS ORIGINAL TECHNO ROOTS WHILE EXPERIMENTING WITH A NEW SOUND THAT I PERSONALLY THINK, SUITS HIM QUITE WELL.

SOME OF THE TRACKS WE MOSTLY ALL KNOW, BUT, HE TURNS AND FLIPS THEM IN A WAY THAT SOUND FRESH AGAIN AND I PLAYED THIS CD AT A B-DAY PARTY NOT LONG TIME AGO AND THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE PERSON AT THIS PARTY THAT DID NOT COME UP TO ME AND ASK WHO THE DJ WAS.

REALLY, REALLY GOOD!

3.0 out of 5 stars Something New?, October 3, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Keokiclash (Audio CD)
First of all, I love Keoki.

I do not, however, like this CD nearly as much as his previous CDs. I saw a video interview with Keoki where he explained that disco still sucks, but I hear disco influence in almost every track. Perhaps this is the clash. I find this overly tame and not nearly as sexy. I would still recommend it to any Keoki lover, but for someone who doesn't know his work I would definitely play other CDs for them first.

I give this one a 3 in what I actually like, but it's a 1 in comparison to his other albums. My favorite CD of his is Alien Invasion to give you an idea of where I am coming from.

I was always under the impression that DJ mix albums were supposed to take the listener on a "trip". This one starts out promising, with the bitchy commentary of "It's Over" but quickly goes nowhere fast. Terribly disappointing.
