More Intimate Than "This Is Where I Came In" Video,
By Martin A Hogan "Marty From SF" (San Francisco, CA. (Hercules)) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)

This 1997 biography touches on the early years of the Gibb's with the brothers actually visiting their old haunts in England and recounting the days before they immigrated to Australia. It is full of nostalgia and little know facts. There are even old family film images. Of course, their entire career is discussed with some old footage and older songs. Much of the video delves into the songwriting process of the three brothers while in their studio. It's an amazing glimpse into the genius that produces the hits. Several of the songs from the CD "Alone" are in 'video format' here as well. Overall, a nice companion piece video for the later "This Is Where I Came In".

As a long time fan of the Bee Gees, it was impossible for me to pass this video. Watching Barry, Robin and Maurice go back to their childhood home and watching their career up and downs was really enjoyable. Listening to them talk about their lives, the highs and the heartaches, one realizes that these three guys are just "Ordinary People" doing something extraordinary. I especially enjoyed watching them work in the studio and explain how they write a song. And, of course, the performances are great. They are all very talented songwriters and performers, and is is so sad to know that there will never be any new songs written by or with the assistance of Maurice Gibb. He is greatly missed by this fan.

I totally agree with the previous review, this is a great video on the Bee Gees. I especially enjoyed the segments on how they compose their music. They all have such great personalities and they really come through on this video. I loved it so much I'm buying another copy for a friend of mine who is also a Bee Gee fan. But fan or no fan this is a must have for anyone who enjoys their music. You will have a new found respect for these three guys. I also have a copy of The Bee Gees Going Home which I recorded off the Disney channel back in 1979-1980. My copy is totally worn out now, but if anyone knows where I can get my hands o a copy please let me know. This was another great documentary on the Gibb Brothers lives.

Keppel Road is a very well made video of the Gibb Brothers life. It is most interesting to see how they write those wonderfully inspired songs. Great genius at work. The personalities of Robin, Maurice and Barry come to life as we are taken on a journey back into their childhood and then forward in time to 1997-1998.

This is a must have in your video library. It's their life story as can only be honestly told by Barry, Robin, and the late Maurice Gibb. It's astonishing, chilling, extraordinary, real.If a Gibb lover, this cannot be overlooked. The footage takes you back in time, and brings you into their current lives. Jam-packed with interviews of Barry, Maurice and Robin, and it's complimented with the most amazing music ever written! I have the video and also the DVD! Get it if you appreciate their contribution to the music industry. You will not be sorry you did. A truly exceptional piece.

There has never been a video about the BeeGees better than this. But I STILL can't find one that explains all of their albums up to date. Barry, Robin, and Maurice each explain stuff, mostly Barry and Maurice, and they even show parts of songs, like I Could Not Love You More, I Surrender, and Just Incase. They talk about their childhood and show their house when they were young. They also show the funny Children of the World impersenation and have other little parts of songs like I've Gotta Get A Message To You, Ordinary Lives, How Deep Is Your Love, Stayin' Alive, Fanny Be Tender, World, Massachusetts, Saved By The Bell, How Can You Mand A Broken Heart, Harry Braff, and many, many more. This biography is both informative and interesting, at the same time fun.
