Good shampoo for black hair but.....,

At first I thought that this shampoo was awesome! It actually does what is says in the label "hydrating and detangling". My hair is relaxed and this shampoo is super conditioning and smells really nice. After using, I ALMOST didn't need a conditioner! However after using for a week, I noticed my scalp starting to feel itchy and I've never had a problem with itchy dry scalp. When I read the ingredients label I noticed it contained the very harsh detergent Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate. All of the other shampoos I've used in the past contain either Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and/or Sodium Laureth Sulfate which are much milder detergents. I was so excited about this shampoo but it looks like my scalp may be too sensitive for it. If you scalp is less sensitive then this might be the shampoo for you.

the best shampoo,

This is the best shampoo. Combine this with the humecto conditioner, you are sure to get great results when you have styled your hair. It gives the correct amount of moisture to dry, relaxed hair. However, after using it for several months, I have to give it a break and come back to it. Its like my hair becomes immune to it. I strongly recommend this shampoo to dry hair, especially if you are having some breakage due to the dryness and flat ironing.

Great Product for Ethnic and Chemically treated hair,

This is a great product that cleans your hair without leaving it dry and straw like feeling. I love this product because while washing my hair it remains soft and manageable. And after I've lightly towel dried my hair it still feels moisturized, silky and easy to comb. Great product that I use.

What a difference!,
This review is from: KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo 32oz (Misc.)
Ok. I don't have anything bad to say about this product! I mean sometimes you are going to have to spend a little to get quality and that is exactly what this product is QUALITY! Like in a salon, I shampoo my hair about 3 times to really get a good cleaning and each time I re-applied it, this product got better and better. It smells GREAT (just like in the salon) the detangling agent is GREAT! I did follow it with a conditioner (as all black women should) however, I do understand why the other reviews felt like this product works well w/o a conditioner, but try me to continue to nourish your hair, you will need to keep using a conditioner. This product plus the conditioner left my hair clean (w/o feeling like it was squeaky or stripped), it left a great shine (which is important in the blow drying process) and left a smell that the man in your life will notice! This truly is a great product, you will not be disappointed!

Best Shampoo I've Ever Used,
This is the best shampoo I've ever used. Like others stated you almost feel as if you don't need a conditioner after using this shampoo. When I rinsed my hair it was soft. Prior to applying my conditioner I combed through my hair and was amazed at how easy it was to comb. It definitely detangles and hydrates your hair. Its been 2 days and my hair is so soft. I used this along with the Keracare humecto conditioner and humidty block oil sheen. I have not had to put any oil or cream on my hair. I'm due for another relaxer but honestly I may not get one. My hair looks that good. Keracare is probably the best product for african american hair. I have found my staple!

Perfect for that strawlike feel,

This review is from: Avlon KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo 8 fl. oz. (240 ml) (Misc.)
My hair: long, fine, lots of it, straight, unprocessed, and babied to the max. I bought this shampoo because it was sulfate-free and claimed to detangle. I wash my hair about 3 times a week and use coconut oil to moisturize between. I also try to keep it up and never curl/iron/or do anything other than braid it. My hair had been very shiny, very supple, and silky to the touch when using Pureology Nanoworks. After about 6 weeks of using this the last four inches of my ends feel like straw. I am seriously considering having to cut them off because now they are dry and TANGLE! Worst beauty purchase I've made in the past 15 years. I'll probably lose a year and a half of growth. Perhaps with a different hair type then it would work, but I can't say anything good about it. It's not necessarily the price, either. I've gotten decent shampoo at Whole Food's (369) that was a lot better value and didn't dry out my hair as much.

EPIPHANY!!!,

I had to write a review even though its like almost 4 A.M. because I just had an epiphany after using this product. I am African-American with very dry hair and I had not washed it in a week and kept it up in a knot for a few days, so I expected my hair to be a little tangled when I washed it. I used this shampoo and my hair was detangled and soft, then I went to use a conditioner and as soon as I rinsed it out, i felt HUGE TANGLED knots all over my hair! I realized that I do not need conditioner after using this product because honestly, it gives more slip and softness than ANY conditioner I have every used in my life did. Unfortunately, I spent about 20 minutes getting the huge knots out of my hair and I realized if I would have just shampooed and combed it wet, I could have had tangle-free hair! I have decided from now on to forego conditioning, I will use only leave-in conditioners (since you rinse the regular one down the drain anyways). I had to learn this the hard way, but ladies, if you have ever had knotted hair after conditioner, you may want to just use this AMAZING shampoo and call it a day. Your hair will thank you for it!

Great Shampoo,

This shampoo is great...not to mention the speedy shipping service. Its great for detangling your hair. I've used other KeraCare shampoos that don't include the detangler and it makes my hair hard to comb and takes more time. It was also a good price for 32 oz. I will definitely order from this company again.
