5.0 out of 5 stars The title says it all., March 18, 2006

If you are looking for music with an Indian flavor, and a sure bet, look no further. This is great music for Yoga practice, or just relaxing. Sample Durga Shakti, and Guru Brahma and you 'll see what I mean. The sounds of Amazonian frogs and birds, the sitar, and awesome vocals make this CD unique, and just a pleasure to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gratitude for the Authenticity, February 21, 2006
This review is from: Kerala Dream (Audio CD)
The music on this CD is extraordinary, it is not just music , it will be an experience. Playing Jai Hanuman on repeat in the background while you sleep or go about your day will alter your consciousness. It is a gift
to those who listen to it and bring it to their inner sanctum. Shiva Rea was so perceptive when she selected this song for her CD of favorite music. I will watch for anything that Rara Avis creates in the future with avid interest.

5.0 out of 5 stars new age/space music prime choice, November 6, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Kerala Dream is a very special album of space music, akin to that heard on NPR's "Music From the Hearts of Space". The last cut, "Samadhi", is especially fine and contemplative, with a subtle sitar creating soothing melodies and a calming mood. Some of the songs have flute and bass. This album has a variety of sounds, from environmental sounds from India, to vocals and sounds from the Amazon. This album goes especially well with yoga practice and exercises. This album is a exemplary blend of musical forms from India, environmenatal, and Western styles. I use this album to go to sleep to and I frequently do not remember the last cut since by then, I am fast asleep. Very relaxing album and I highly recommend it to yoga enthusiasts.

I bought this CD because I am a big fan of the music in Shiva Rea's yoga DVDs. I love being able to listen to this music while on the computer working or while in my car. It definitely helps bring that yoga vibe to my day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Takes you there!......... Absolute BLISS!, December 22, 2010
Craig Kohland and Rara Avis are two of the best. The music is layered and multi-facted. It has taken the mystery of India, her mysterious musical tones and wrapped them in a slow soulful sound. I wish Rara would do more Indian "masala" music, keep up the fantastic music. It takes me back to India one more time!
Several tracks and other great songs on the "JALA" CD by yogi tunes.

super Shanti vibes. lovely rhythms + highly recommended. having spent several months in Kerala, i found so much of this album/artist to resonate primally from sounds encountered there. i can fully recommend this cd. have found it to be very good for introspective asana practice as well as general peaceful/contemplative listening on everyday level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I could find more, November 26, 2009
By
Peter Joseph (Albany, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This is a one-of-a-kind album. I use it to help me fall asleep peacefully. The deep, slow vocals are very soothing and the sitar isn't overbearing. This music truly puts me in a new state of mind. I only wish I could find more music like this. Unfortunately, the New Age genre this is categorized in is too generic, and my search for something similar has not yet been successful.
