5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, but worth a try.
I have very long, straight, fairly thick hair. It's naturally light brown, but I've been highlighting it heavily for years, and the ends have recently become extremely dry and difficult to manage. 3.0 out of 5 stars Price doesn't make the product
I had tried the oleo-relax serum with ok results, so I thought if I got the shampoo I may have better results. I have wavy hair, and I prefer to wear it straight, but when I dry it I get "pouf". So I thought this would be a help. My hair is fickle, some days this stuff works great, some days it's like I used some cheap regular shampoo. I am giving it a three because I...

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, but worth a try., September 18, 2007
I have very long, straight, fairly thick hair. It's naturally light brown, but I've been highlighting it heavily for years, and the ends have recently become extremely dry and difficult to manage. The underneath part that lies against the back of my neck is especially difficult and, after combing, retangles itself within minutes. I was beginning to think I'd have to cut the bottom 6 or 7 inches off and start over, but my colorist (who, by the way, works in a salon that doesn't carry Kerastase, so I figure she's being objective) recommended the Kerastase Oleo Relax line. I figured it was worth a shot, even though the combined cost of the retail sized shampoo and conditioner is about $100. My hair definitely appears MUCH smoother, even when air-dried. (However, I've noticed that continued use is necessary, because when I use anything else my hair doesn't look nearly as good.) I leave the conditioner in for 10 to 15 minutes as the label directs; thoroughly combing it through in the meantime seems to give the best results. With both the shampoo and the conditioner, a little product goes a long way (in contrast to cheaper drugstore products), but the conditioner comes in a smaller container and seems to go faster. I'd suggest purchasing 2 conditioners for every 1 shampoo.

5.0 out of 5 stars My new favorite shampoo, November 3, 2006
This review is from: Kerastase Nutritive Bain Oleo-Relax Smoothing Shampoo For Dry and Rebellious Hair, 8.5 Ounce (Health and Beauty)
I originally purchased this for my mother, who has very dry, brittle, 35 years of dyeing, hair. It wasn't "strong" enough for her. I have 40ish hair with highlights, no gray, but coarse. It has softened my hair and makes it lie flat, not frizzy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Hair Starts Here, November 18, 2009

This shampoo has done wonders for my hair. I have thick, wavy-to-curly, frizzy hair which tends toward dryness. It's also color treated, which means I'm careful with shampoos. Kerastase Oleo-Relax makes my hair soft and smooths it out like no other shampoo ever has. I almost feel like I could get away with not conditioning when I use this shampoo. It smells great, gives a luxurious lather, and pampers my hair. I'd recommend this for anyone who wants to tame their slightly out-of-control hair. It's probably best for people with thick, "textury" hair--I think it might make fine hair too limp. But I think it's the best thing since sliced bread. HIGHLY recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who would have thought a shampoo could do this much?, March 24, 2009
This review is from: Kerastase Nutritive Bain Oleo-Relax Smoothing Shampoo For Dry and Rebellious Hair, 8.5 Ounce (Health and Beauty)
This shampoo has changed the way my hair looks and feels. I have slightly course, medium thick hair. I tried this shampoo to help me straighten and smooth my curly hair. Right away my hair felt smoother and more cooperative. Believe it or not, it's almost like it has thickened the strands. My hair isn't as limp and seems fuller! It is worth the price. You have to try it yourself to believe it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good shampoo, February 13, 2008

This shampoo sounded great in the description but like most other products I'm not sure I'm seeing much of a difference. I use it with the matching conditioner, but I think it's more the conditioner that is doing something. However, the combo does leave my hair much silkier than other shampoos (and I've tried a lot of professional products) so it certainly wasn't disappointing. Not sure if I'll get it again, I may still keep looking.

This is the best products I have found for my dry, colored, rebellious hair. It has tame it as no other products I have tried (uncountable!). I used to suffer from the problem of having thick rebellious hair. Now, all my hair is gray, but colored, so the problem got worst until I found these products. I'm using all the line. It's quite expensive but it's been so worth it.

I had a Kerastase salon treatment a couple of months ago and found the shampoo and condition cheaper on amazon.com. My hair is naturally frizzy with tight curls. Its a challenge to get it straight and keep it straight. This shampoo was amazing. My hair came out just like it did at the salon! I love Kerastase.

A British hairdresser prescribed L'oreal's high-end product line for my thick, wavy, Indian hair. He also recommended the Kerastase masque treatment. Both are godsends to someone such as I who'd previously only ever selected haircare products from club card discounts on supermarket shelves & would've balked at the idea of such an expense. If Oleo-Relax doesn't work up a nice lather the first time you use it, here's one case where you have to rinse then repeat. Total strangers ask me if they can feel my hair, and I get compliments all the time. But even without other people complimenting me, I can feel that my hair isn't as coarse as it used to be. I've been using this product for the 2 years since I began shacking up with the hairdresser, but his salon doesn't sell L'Oreal, which means that he can't just steal me some from work but instead I have to buy it from Amazon for my own damn self. But hey, I'm worth it.
