Rock lovers hardly know them. But when you listen their music now, you realize that Kerbdog are the natural link between the so called "grunge" and "nu-metal", with a shade of pure hardcore. Alice In Chains' style reefs and back-ups, and strong guitars. Kerbdog recorded with top-producer Jack Endino (Stone Temple Pilots, and so on). There's something of Kerbdog in Deftones, Glassjaw, or Poison The Well. Kerbdog simply did it first, but nobody knows. They come from Ireland, and they released their album in the dessertic gap which flourished after Cobains death. Wrong time, wrong place, great album.

When I got this album in '95, I'd never heard of them, but wanted to try something new, and I wasn't disappointed. When I heard "Clock," I was simply floored. Wow! These guys had something! Imagine Nirvana meets Metallica, and that should give you some idea. "Clock" and "Dry Riser" should have, by all rights, dominated the radio waves of that era. But alas, it wasn't to be. If you're interested in the music of that era, and particularly in the more innovative sounds of that time, definitely check this out....

Kerbdog hailing from kilkenny in ireland released their debut album, simply titled kerbdog,in 1994 to much critical acclaim. Meanwhile however the public nursed a grunge'post cobain' hangover -meaning this album, showcasing burning talents, was to be criminally overlooked. Produced by jack endino,( producer of Nirvana's in utero) with the band in late 1993, what emerges is an album transending the boundaries of which grunge and metal had found itself. Indeed lead guitar and vocalist Cormac Battle was all too aware of these genres' tendency to drag its knuckles. Battle embraces melody yet despite this 'kerbdog' loses none of its chunky guitar-heavy
potency. Think husker-du(vocals) and helmet(guitars)in a noisy blender( Darragh Butlers superb racket on drums)and you get the picture. despite the fact i have owned this album for over 10 years, and kerbdog's incredible second effort 'on the turn'( which mercury records released in 1996 as their great hope to crack america), the album is endlessly interesting. Kerbdog reformed in 2005 to the joy of their loyal fans. buy this at once
