4" x 3" DECK & DOCK LIGHT - 4 Pack Add On - (Actual size: 4 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 2" thick) The Deck and Dock Lights are an exciting breakthrough in exterior illumination. They will give your wooden or Terx deck and dock areas the necessary directional lighting, as well as an attractive, sophisticated appearance. These lights not only enhance the look of your property, but also provide you with additional security and when used in appropriate areas, they can enhance the safety of your loved ones and guests. The 3" x 4" DECK LIGHT is designed for easy installation into wood or trex decking. A small notch is cut out of adjoining deck boards, and then the light is inserted and locked in place with hold-tight tabs. The wide lip supports the light and its smooth, rounded corners make the DECK LIGHT a safe, yet elegant addition to your outdoor living area. Each 8 or 14 light kit contains DECK LIGHT fixtures & lenses, sockets, 4-watt bulbs, wire connectors, 50 feet of 16/2 outdoor cable, transformer and instructions. The supplied 12-volt dust-to-dawn 88-Watt transformer can power up to 22 - 4-watt fixtures. Add-on lights are also available on out TJB-INC Amazon Store (additional cable may be necessary depending on number and spacing of lights). Tools Required: Jig Saw, Pliers, Utility Knife, & Regular Screwdriver. The DECK & DOCK Lights can be used in wet areas like docks, porches, wood stairs, & decks. Use them to highlight borders and add safety to a dark area. The clear bulbs can be easily changed out and replaced with colored bulbs like red, yellow, green, or red (all available separately) for special effects. I bought these to add onto my existing deck lights and just as the first set they work perfect. Did have one tiny issue where the bulb became loose and just had to adjust to get the light back on. They're great and provide just enough ambient light for accent around the permiter of a deck. Should use the white lense cover as a template to cut out the hole and not try to make all the notches to fit very secure. If installed straight down, horizontal to the ground you don't need an extremely tight fitting hole.

We used these to light the steps to our deck by putting them on the risers - the 4 watts is just enough light without being too bright when you are looking right into them. Installation was pretty simple - cut a 3x4 inch hole (used a jig saw). Since the lights are about 1.5 inches deep, I needed to add some 3/4 inch material to the back of each 3/4 inch thick riser to be able to use the provided fastening clamps - no big deal. My only issue was using the provided connectors which were sized for 14 ga or smaller wire. Since I was using 12 ga, the insulation was too fat and would not slide into the connector holes. I used a dremel with a sanding drum to taper the insulation - kind of a nuisance. Otherwise, very pleased and would definitely use them again.
