I bought this fire starter because I own a lot of Kershaw knives, all of which are of great quality. This fire starter doesn't quite live up to its name though. I give it 4 stars overall:

It does in fact start a fire. That's a plus.

It is, however, finicky about striking it at exactly the right angle and applying the proper amount of pressure to the striker. These problems do not appear to affect my friends' strikers of various other brands, so -1 star.

Would I buy it again? Probably: I'm a bit anal and I like that it matches my knives...

Nice little fire starter. Just need some dry tender to catch the spark. Works very well. A must have for every bug out kit.
