The LFK has the features many customers prefer in a smaller carrying knife lightweight, an attractive look, and a comfortable price. The LFK's light weight is made possible, in part, by its anodized 6061-T6 aircraft-aluminum handles. Anodized aluminum is very durable and the permanent matte black finish is highly scratch-resistant. The LFK also offers a compact blade of AUS6A high-carbon stainless steel. The knife features a thumb stud for Kershaw's super-smooth, one-handed, manual opening. A stainless-steel locking liner holds the blade securely in position after the blade is deployed.

1) The newest version of this knife is actually 8CR13MoV steel and made in China. Amazon has yet to update its website. 2) The Chinese steel is an upgrade from the previous steel. However, I own the old Japanese version and the Chinese version and the former is built a little better - The knife opens and closes more smoothly. 3) I bought the older one for $9 and the newer one for $8. Those prices were excellent. Thus, my 5 star rating (For both) is based on what I payed. 4) The knife is light, can be opened with no hassle, depending on the size of your hands, is sharp, has a nice pointy tip, and is sturdy. The Chinese version opens smoothly, but not perfectly. 5) The knife is small, but highly functional. I would not pay more than $13 dollars for this knife. Frequently, the price will dip to around $10. The MSRP: $19.95.

I have to say this knife was a great surprise. I wasn't expecting a whole lot for about ten bucks, but I can barely put this down.
It sits unnoticed in a pocket until it's needed, which is exactly what I wanted. The blade was very sharp out of the box and holds an edge pretty well. It's easy to sharpen, too. Again, I was not planning on this replacing other more versatile knives for everyday use, and it hasn't, but for what it is, it's a pretty great little folder. Certainly a nice break from something like a Victorinox Classic if you don't need or want scissors, and a nail file, etc. That's really what this competes against, not bigger, better folders sold by Kershaw and plenty of other companies. And for the price, I appreciate having a larger locking blade over the gizmos on a SAK. About the only gripes I can come up with are 1) no clip - but I knew it didn't come with one when I bought it so I can't really mark it down for that 2) masochistic thumb studs - Ouch, these are small and sharp. Loosening the pivot bolt a bit means I don't have to use as much pressure, which helps.

This is a well-crafted, light and very nicely furnished pocket knife. The one-hand open is a bit tough, but that is my only real gripe.
