This is a fun knife. Good built, sharp and easy to operate.
Urban Camo is very stylish too.

Ignore the post about it hitting the spring post, it does not.
There is about 1mm between them.

It's a great knife. You'll either love it or hate it from first sight. The most unusual and cool knife ever. Has got a Blade magazine 2005 most innovative american design award.

Very cool and unusual knife. Not for chopping wood of course... Opens and closes fast and silent, pointed up or down - no other knife can do that. You need to practice it for a while (took me an hour to master). Nice knife to play with (don't tell me that you need a knife to survive). If you need a knife to cut meat or you are a special ops guy - buy 12" Ka Bar... This one makes nice gift. Very well made, at leat mine was. No "blade touching the spring" thing. Would love to have it in S30V or D2.

I have to admit,... I bought this knife as a novelty. It seemed on appearance that this should be a very safe design for a folding knife. It can't close on your fingers if you are gripping the handle properly. I'm even more impressed after using this knife for almost 2 year. (I pre-ordered.)

The blade is much safer than I imagined and stays incredibly sharp. I'm impressed with the sandvik steel. After working off the shipping edge and rehoning the blade,... I haven't done anything but steel the blade & it has stayed amazingly sharp. I liked it so much, I bought 2 more and gave away a couple as gifts. This has become my every day carry knife.

When I read the 1 star review below, I checked all 3 of my knives,... none of mine close down to the toggle spring. (It comes close, but there's a blade stop designed into the blade/handle pivot end of the knife that prevents it from closing that far.)

Only gave it 4 stars because I don't think it's perfect,... but if I could, I'd give it a 4.9 :-)

i guess i got lucky, because my E.T. (in the limited edition rainbow finish!) does not, i repeat, does not strike the torsion spring on its way back into the handle. The thing is sharp as heck, as are all kershaws, and amazingly sturdy in the open position. i only gave it a four star because opening it with one hand hurts a little untill you build up a callous. Other than that, i have enjoyed it fully. The carabiner makes it great to clip on my d-ring on my pack when i hike or hunt, and the skeletal, yet sturdy aluminum frame weathers drops and all sorts of abuse with no trouble at all. You'll be hard pressed to find a funkier, and in the case of the rainbow finish, a prettier knife. if your'e looking for a small personal defense weapon or a fighting blade, look elsewhere. But if you want a solidly built, razor-sharp eye-catcher, the E.T. just might be for you.

Not sure how well this would hold up in a fight, but it sure is a show to open and close. Be careful, you'll put your eye out.
