Product Description

Product Description

Designed by RJ Martin, the Scrambler is one classy pocketknife. The drop-point blade is hollow-ground to help it breeze through slicing tasks. A large top swedge enhances the good looks of the Scrambler's blade. 8Cr13MoV blade steel provides strength and good edge retention; titanium carbo-nitride coating provides additional blade protection and gives the knife a unified look as the blade flows into the handle. The front side of the comfortable handle is textured G-10 with a titanium carbo-nitride-coated bolster. The other side is all stainless steel with a sturdy frame lock. The extended bolster provides additional forefinger protection and ensures the knife fits firmly in your hand during use. SpeedSafe-equipped, the Scrambler opens quickly and easily with the ambidextrous flipper. Flipper: May be used on either manual or assisted opening knives. The "flipper" is a protrusion on the back of the blade that the user can pull back on, or flip, in order to move the blade easily out of the handle. SpeedSafe: Assists you to open any SpeedSafe knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumbstud or pull back on the flipper; built into many Kershaw best sellers. Frame Lock: A portion of the handle (the knife frame) moves behind the blade to lock it into position during use. This is a safety feature of the knife. Reversible: Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

I love knives. My wallet doesn't. I have owned Benchmades, Spydercos, SOGs, CRKT, Kershaw, ZT, ESEE, and a few others. i have owned and used a 250 dollar Benchmade and I have loved on a 16 dollar Keshaw. All that is to say while I'm no expert, i know what i like. I love this knife. There are some niggles that bother me but all the stuff i love makes up for it.

Size: This knife is almost exactly the same size as a full size Benchmade Griptilian, wich to me is bang on perfect for EDC. The big differences the width, it is much flatter and much thinner than a Grip. That makes it nicer to carry in pocket, though you lose some utility. To me that's ok. I never carry this knife if I'm expecting to but a lot of wear on my knife. I think this is an awesome Sunday carry, or office carry. The thinness of the knife makes it dispenser in the pocket even though it weighs a bit. Speaking of weight, its 5 ounces. That to me is not a bad thing, it give the knife authority in your hand if you do have to put it to use. it wouldn't be great in a linen or synthetic suit, but wool held up well, and because (skipping to ergonomics) the clip is on the steel frame lock, you don't get as much wear on your pocket.

Ergonomics: this knife just fits like a glove. no sharp edges, no humps in a bad place, the one miss is putting a ramp on the blade but did not gimp it. come on RJ. I will say that the classiness of the knife is upped by NOT having gimping but from a pure utilitarian stand point, kinda a waste of steel. the G-10 is textured enough to be worth the effort but not so grippy as to make it un-cool.

Steel/grind: the steel, 8Cr13Mov is the standard for Chinese made knives no matter the maker. Kershaw treats it well.

This knife has been my edc (every day carry) for about 2 months. I love this knife! It came shaving sharp! The speed safe spring assist is really awesome and its incredibly fun to flip out. The knife comes out really fast! I haven't had to sharpen it (I've been using it every day cutting boxes, rope/string/paracord, etc. also ive been stropping it every day that is actually the reason y I haven't had to sharpen it) I recommend this knife to everyone! Anyone who wants a great edc that can be used as a tactical blade (though I would choose something bigger) buy it! The coating has hasn't worn and it still looks great! I recommend this 100%! This knife made me a Kershaw fan!

Designed by RJ Martin. This may be my favorite budget Kershaw this year, especially of the assisted openers. Its' the perfect size for EDC and has great ergonomics. I think Kershaw really takes these budget knives to another level with the design elements and great fit and finish.

Fits great in the hand, and while it's a decent sized knife, is still slim enough that it's quite unnoticeable in your pocket. Operates quite smoothly, with a solid lockup. NO wiggle. Shaving sharp out of the box. My only disappointment is that the stone wash version wasn't out yet at the time I bought this. If you're already familiar with Kershaws quality, then this knife will not disappoint.

Solid heavy duty quality knife. Blade was sharp out of the box and hasn't lost it's edge yet. Amazon made it easy to purchase and shipping was quick.

Nice Knife. I own several Kershaw, Spyderco's and Benchmades and for under $30 delivered, this is a solid knife. Only complaints are it's weight which is closer to 5 ounces than the 4.0 listed and that it needed a little break in for it to lockup solid when flipping it open. After a hundred or so openings it now opens perfect. Knife came razor sharp, we'll have to see how the edge holds up with use.

This is a really awesome knife. I have the Buck Vantage Select, which is pretty comparable except for the blade deployment--the Kershaw responds much quicker. This is important to me because I carry it when walking my dog early in the morning for protection against possible coyote attacks and any people that may try to harm us (never had either happen, and hope I never have to deploy the knife!)d. It makes me feel safer to carry it.

At work it does simple tasks like opening boxes and cutting those nylon bands off boxes of copy paper.

Blade comes pretty sharp--sharp enough for my needs anyway. The weight is hefty and feels very good and solid in the hand. I have small hands so this is a big blade for me. The blade has no play whatsoever when in the open position. And the knife just plain looks awesome. So I get good-looks and solid functionality. A+ piece of EDC.
