Product Description

At first glance, you might wonder, "what's up with this little knife?" But that's only until you get your hands on it. Once you do, you'll see how nicely the finger contours fit your hand, how useful that stubby little blade is, and how Kershaw's K-Texture on the handle provides an extra secure grip. But that's not all. There's also the flathead screwdriver at the butt of the knife that doubles as a lanyard attachment. And then there's the handy bottle cap lifter built into the back of the knife. Yeah, we thought you'd like that. The blade is made of 8Cr13MoV for its ability to hold an edge, strength, and hardness. The K-Texture handle is exclusive to Kershaw. Look closely and you'll see that the texture is composed of a repeating pattern of the Kershaw logo "k." Sure, it looks cool, but the point is giving your fingers a little something extra to hang onto, which the Kershaw K-Texture on the Shuffle's handle does to perfection. A liner lock secures the Shuffle's blade open while you use it, but also lets you close the knife easily when its tasks are done. Multifunction: Has multiple blades or tools, enabling it to perform multiple functions. Manual: There is no mechanical assist, such as SpeedSafe, used to open the folding knife. Liner Lock: Locks the blade open during use; one side of the knife’s steel "liner," the steel plate to which the handle scales are attached, moves into position behind the blade to securely lock it open. Reversible pocket clip.

Nice little pocket knife !! Normally I carry a Partially Serrated black Kershaw Black Shallot Knife in my jeans. The BEST all around carry pocket knife in my opinion. But for lightweight shorts I prefer a lightweight folder. My choice WAS and is the Spyderco Sage Titanium but I gave the one I had away as a gift. To replace it would not be cost effective (price one and you'll see !!) so I looked for a more affordable alternative.

The Shuffle has made me stop grieving the loss of the Sage. Sweet little thing this Shuffle!! Nice lanyard loop that doubles as a (admittedly light weight) screwdriver. The bottle opener is handy and worth the minor (and I mean minor) rubbing of the back of my hand reaching into my pocket for something.

And, as a side note, when selecting a 'clip' pocket folder remember that you will be shoving your hand into your pocket a lot more to retrieve things rather than your knife. Make sure it is 1) THIN, and 2) SMOOTH on the back of your hand. (Back to the Shallot!) Also, keep up with the tension on the clip. It should be tight enough to stay put when you jerk your hand in and out of your pocket but loose enough to deploy cleanly.

I picked up the Shuffle while I was searching for a simple knife to carry daily. While it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, it does the job well. It was razor sharp out of the box, easy to open, and has a slim profile that makes it comfortable to carry. That being said, it has some minor issues. The screwdriver/lanyard attachment end is a little sharp, and sticks out of the pocket it's being carried in. The bottle opener is also sharp if you catch it the wrong way, and can cut into the palm depending on how hard you're using it. Closing it can be a little tough, as the release is tricky to get to. Lastly, the grip is a little small. There is a notch on the blade to accommodate a finger, but personally I don't like my finger that close to the sharp bits.

All said, it's a good value for your money. The blade is a great size and shape for daily use, and doesn't have any of that useless 1-inch serration. The pocket clip can easily be swapped to either side by taking out two small screws, so that's a plus. In the long run, you would be hard pressed to find a better knife for this value. The Kershaw name can generally be associated with quality, and this item is no exception.

I've been waiting for this knife to hit the market for a while. It was introduced at shot show in Jan 2013, and did not hit the market until very recently, sometime around the early part of August. I think it is a good buy at $15, which I paid at Walmart. Once amazon has them in stock, I would imagine that would be the price. Don't pay $15 plus shipping, or $24. You'll feel better if you only pay $15.

Otherwise, I really like this little knife. The curved handle with deep finger choils lends to a very positive grip in my medium sized hand. After a little practice, the blade deploys quickly and easily, but it took a little getting used too. The slim, lightwieght knife, with a deep carry pocket clip rides very discreetly in the pocket. The closed length is very short, making it easy to reach past the knife into the bottom of your pocket.

For me, it seems to pack more power than its diminutive size would suggest. It has a short overall length, and a short stubby blade, but it does not feel like a miniature knife. Very ergonomic. Great for everyday tasks.

Clip is reversible, but when seeing the difference in the Handle scales, it is really designed for right handed carry. Tip up only. Or it rides ok when dropped in the pocket.

When clipped, The bottle opener can catch on the pocket if you just try to yank it out. It took a little getting used to. A simple twist of just a few degrees, and it slips right out. Otherwise, the bottle opener snags on the pocket and you can't get it out.

Specs say 8cr13mov steel, but the blade is stamped with 3cr13. I don't know the difference, but the quality seems fine to me.

To me, it's a very cool blade. It does a lot of things well, including open a bottle of beer. I have been reaching for it pretty often when choosing which knife to carry for my suburban life.

It's a little strange and takes a little getting used to, but overall I love it.

Part of Kershaw's 2013 line, the Shuffle is a small liner-lock folder with some serious power. It feels good in the hand and locks up tightly. There is no blade play whatsoever. The knife's steel is often advertised as 8Cr13MoV online, but after checking the actual blade, it is stamped 3Cr13. The blade has some serious cutting power, slicing through cardboard boxes and packing tape with ease. I took it camping and it held up well to every task I could think of. More than well, the Shuffle put knives twice it's size to shame. What impressed me the most was that after a long first day of use, there was no wear on the blade or the edge at all.
The next thing I noticed was the grip. While not "grippy" like rubber, the nylon "K" patterned grip provided decent purchase while performing precise tasks with the blade. If you look closely at the grip near the base of the knife on the pocket clip side, you will see that it says "China" on the grip. Well, it is a budget knife.
A cutaway in the grip provides room for a bottle opener, a handy feature.
The base of the knife features a lanyard hole/flathead screwdriver which could also function as a glass breaker.
The pocket clip is decently snug and reasonably discreet, a untrained eye might not even recognize it as a knife, due to how little the knife sticks out of the pocket. Only the lanyard hole is visible above the pocket line. The pocket clip is reversible, but only available for tip-up carry.
I like the versatile nature of this knife. Not only does the blade perform well, but the bottle opener and screwdriver come in handy too. My only complaint is that sometimes the bottle opener and screwdriver can poke the hand when reaching into a pocket. This can be resolved by either carrying the blade loosely in the pocket or reversing the pocket clip. Overall for the price, this is a great knife. Highly recommended.
