Holds an edge, opens easy, locks well and the pocket clip really holds. What more can I say. I like my Kershaw

I still have this knife, and I'm writing this review 9 months later. Really sharp, great spring action. Makes you feel B.A. when you whip it out!

I got this knife many years ago at a gun show. Still has the Patent Pending stamped on the back. I have used it on every day acivities, between cutting things for the kids, or playing in the out doors, to it in my pocket every day when I go to work.

I fits great in my hand, the black finish is starting to ware but thats to be expected. It keeps an edge pretty well and the spring still has yet to let me down. I think I payed full price back in the day and have yet to think I made a bad mistake. I have told everyone about this knife. It is and has been my fav pocket knife for yrs.

To the cons. I cant think of a single one. I hope you like yours as much as I did mine.

There is no higher accolade that can be given this knife. It is exactly as described by both the manufacturer and people who purchased it.

The 1550 Serated Blackout is the only knife I use. I've rarely lost one and replaced it, but the handling is solid and the tortion bar deployment is quick and snappy. The dark finish on the outside is THE BEST!!--NOTHING mars it. The blade stays nearly as mark-free, despite heavy use. I always get the serated model; though I miss the addiitonal straight cutting surface, the serrations EASILY sever most heavy tasks. I remove the clip and carry it in my pocket--it's small enough to take anywhere (but Gov't Buildings). Amazon always has the best price on these!

I like the screw plug by the blade, which lets you know the orientation of your knife--just by feel. Although I've yet to actually use my knife for defense, I DID HAVE ONE CLOSE CALL; simply removing it from my pocket--not even opening it--was enough to deter the attack.

An interesting note: I had a Kershaw many years ago (could have been this model, but I'm not sure). I VERY MISTAKENLY ENTERED a Courthouse Building--going through the metal detectors...and my knife passed through! I only realized this later, and obviously have not attempted this "stunt" stince (maybe they're metal detectors were not as sensitive back then).
