Great Everyday Carry Knife,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kershaw Ken Onion Boa Folding Knife with Speed Safe (Sports)
According to the laws in the state of Florida, it is legal for any citizen, as long as they have not committed a felony, to carry an automatic (switchblade) knife with a blade length no longer than 3.5 inches unconcealed. At first, that was the type of knife that I was more interested in purchasing with the same blade material as the Kershaw, which is S30v steel. This type of steel is extremely hard, very durable, and has a very good edge retention capability. The mechanism of the knife, in my opinion is very comparable to using an automatic knife. The DLC coating on the blade only reinforces the resistance to corrosion and other harmful elements and chemicals that can normally harm a blade. However, like I stated before, with S30v steel, this steel is more or less the premiere all around blade material for any user and is well known for its corrosion resitance. The locking mechanism, in my opinion, isn't a necessity only because of the rare chance of this knife opening without the user's intention of doing so. I carry this knife on a daily basis and have never encountered a problem with the lock being unengaged. The body of the knife feels solid and very well made. I have never had a problem gripping the knife while wet or slick. When holding this knife in your hand it seems very natural and feels like an extension of your body which can only be attributed to the methodical time that was placed into its design. To summarize, if you have a need for premium steel and an all together well made knife by Ken Onion, this knife would be very hard not to reccommend.

not s60v steel,
This review is from: Kershaw Ken Onion Boa Folding Knife with Speed Safe (Sports)
The knife actually has s30v steel, as it says on kershaw's website and on the knife blade it's self. I was planning on sending it back untill i got the knife and saw that it has the steel advertised on the manufacturer's website, not the s60v advertised on this page

Good knife, Great customer service.,
By cons: need to replace torsion bar every 10,000 openings (actually less, mine broke after only one month) pivot screw loosens frequently. heavy and large. great for outdoor use but a bit too big and heavy for everyday use. if you don't mind the weight and size, it's a darn good knife.
