My only issue is they seem to be failing much sooner than before. Years ago the folding metal hook at the end would finally fatigue enough and break but that was usually after almost a year of use. I found now that 1 of the 2 roller bearings where the tape comes out of the housing fails rather quickly. Once this happens the fiberglass tape will start to get cut on the metal edge when unwinding and re-winding quickly shredding the tape and causing snags. you have to trim off the shredded edges or they get caught and jam. If they could correct the cheap roller issue this tape would get 5 stars.
One minor design flaw is that when you push back the little hand to rewind it back, it's hard to pull that out again. I have to use a tool. Other than that it feels well built.

It was time to have a proper tape on set. This was recommended to me by an experienced AC that has seen it all. Works well, no complaints.Published 15 days ago by Peter
Well made and sturdy. Works perfectly for measuring distances from camera on a film set.
Aesthetically eye pleasing and the pop out winding handle is a great feature.
Sturdy construction, not too bulky, Feels like it will last for a few years (at the least)
None of the Camera Assistants have had anything negative to say, works well
