Product Description

Amazon.com

Lightweight and ultra-portable, this mobile work station is ideal for home improvement enthusiasts. Designed to hold up to 1000 pounds, the BDWM1000 provides you with a clamping area where you can complete gluing projects or painting, sanding, and cutting jobs. This station features two one-handed clamps with four clamping slots and two clamp channels--so you can perform either horizontal or vertical clamping tasks. An additional shelf keeps the bar clamps in easy reach, while the quick-release legs allow the table to collapse down to less than four inches in width. Finally, the BDWM1000's mobility means you can pick it up and move it to wherever you'd like to work.

From the Manufacturer

Keter 17182239 Folding Work Table pops up to allow for a work surface then neatly folds away when you're done. Won't take up much room when not in use. Two clamps are included to hold down whatever you're working on. The quick opening device makes assembly a snap.

Had this work table for a little over a year although I've only used it 4-5 x for small projects. Design is great, easy set-up and take down, good work surface, etc. However, I was putting the table away and one of the legs must not have folded just right (they are out of sight during the folding process) and it snapped off. I was able to see that the leg is actually attached by only six small plastic tabs on the end of the leg cap. Actually quite poor construction, but more importantly, there is no support/parts options when something on this product breaks. Really a shame since I did like using this workbench, just don't think I'll be paying for another one considering how this one broke.

I live in an RV but still work on projects where you need a stable work platform. I had an old Black'n Decker portable workbench for 35 years, but with its exposed steel legs and design, would be a little hard to store in the RV. So when we moved aboard full time, I gave the old bench to my son, who spotted this one for me. (two years ago).

But, Costco had sold the last one before I could get one, and this one seemed to dissappear from view. I periodically searched the internet, made phone calls, could not find it, it was not being sold anywhere in the US.

Two weeks ago, during one of my periodic searches, their website showed that Amazon had it for sale! Hooray, I ordered one immediatly. With PRIME, two days later, I had the bench. I was excited, but when I opened the outer box, I found a factory box that had been patched and was in rough shape. Upon close inspection, I found lots of scuff marks, some plastic edges and ribs broken, nothing that would affect its operation, but still disheartening.

I called Amazon customer service, just to let them know about the packaging. It was a work bench, yes I was dissappointed, but I could use it as is. I was worried that perhaps they just didn't ship well. But 'Frank' said not to worry. He would ship me out a replacement unit, and I could keep which ever one was the better one.

Two days later, I had the replacement unit. It had one very minor blemish, all was good. I used the Amazon return shipping label, the 1st one was heading back to Amazon, and I was using the new bench for projects.

It is fairly light at 25-28 pounds, but will hold 400 pounds. It truely opens with the click of two thumb buttons when you hold it up.

I ordered this after reading reviews about the folding legs problems (some reviewers complained the broke them etc etc) Well let me say that if you are attentive and carefully check if the legs are now completely unfolded and when closing check they have folded completely (no force needed), then you will have no issues. This is a good table for small home projects, when folded you can hang it to the side wall of your garage and things are not cramped. Its solid and the two clamps are very helpful. Take your time preparing your workstation and all will be good.

PROS:
-I needed a work bench that I could move around and store out of the way when I wasn't using it. I purchased this primarily to do some gunsmithing and carpentry and it has worked out very well. One of the versatile things I was able to do (which I can't do with a regular work bench) was putting it on it's side, using the clamps (that came with the work bench) to hold a shotgun barrel down on the ground in order to knock the gas block off (part of my Saiga 12 conversion).
-It literally takes me seconds to unfold and fold it.
-The clamps that came with it clamp down nice and tight.
-The carry handle makes it convenient to move around when it's folded up.
-Provides plenty of storage space for tools and parts when it is unfolded.
-Light and easy to move around

CONS:
-The table top is composed of plastic so it will get scratched/scuffed up if heavy sharp metal edges are pressed up against the plastic. The design of this work bench deserves five stars, but the quality of it gets 4 stars. I would actually rate this work bench 4.5 stars.

After seeing one of these benches broken on the floor at Costco, I was hesitant in purchasing one; however, not knowing the circumstances as to how it had been handled, I decided to go ahead and buy one via Amazon.

Upon receiving the Keter work table, it opened instantly with ease and locked into place following the instructions. The clamps included were strategically located within. The work bench appeared to be strong and stable so I decided to give it workout. After stowing it in my car trunk, I drove 100+ miles to a friends house to trim the bottom of one of her bathroom doors [also have a cordless set of tools].

The door was placed atop the work bench, clamped into place with the enclosed clamps, and using two small additional clamps to hold a metal cutting guide, I trimmed the bottom of the door using a cordless circular saw. The "folding work table" was very sturdy and stable. The included clamps were easy to use to hold the door on the top of the table. After trimming the door, I released the clamps and stowed them back inside the table. After removing the door, the work bench was easily collapsed to its portable configuration.

A difficult job was made easy by the Keter folding work table. If handled properly with care, it should be usable for many years to come.
