About Inversion Tables
Back pain is an uncomfortable and cumbersome ailment for millions of people. It can strike repeatedly and without warning, nearly paralyzing its victims with pain and discomfort. Inversion therapy is an excellent way to prevent and treat chronic or recurring back pain. This form of therapy treats back pain by hanging a person upside-down by their ankles. The only problem with this therapy is a risk of spinal injury because of the procedure's lack of support. Fortunately, inversion tables remove this risk.
A person can lie on an inversion table, and then gradually turn themselves upside down, always fully supported by their ankles. With precise balance, simple arm movements control the rotation of the inversion table. Special tether straps or locking hinges allow users to stop a rotation at just the right angle in order to stretch a specific place in their back. This technique has proven effective for relieving spine compression, elongating the spine, and reversing minor spinal dislocations. Of course, this treatment is not for everyone. People with glaucoma, very high blood pressure, bone disorders, or a history of severe spinal injury or surgery should be careful and check with a physician before administering inversion therapy. However, with a bit of practice and caution, inversion tables can be your ticket to a pain-free and healthier back.

great back swing,

High quality, nice design, good customer service (a piece damaged in shipment was replaced with no hassle). Compared to my old American Sports back swing, on which the nylon finally gave out after 25 years, this is higher quality everywhere, and the curved handles are a handy feature for pulling yourself back to upright position in case you're not balanced perfectly. The only downside is that assembly is not easy or obvious, and the instructions are incomplete and poorly written.

Heavy, solid, well constructed inversion table,
By screen_name (oregon, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kettler APOLLO Inversion Trainer Table (Sports)
I agree with the other reviewer that this wasn't as easy to put together as it could have been. I actually enjoy assembling things, but the instructions that came with this were a bit challenging. It is a very solid, comfortable (love the back and ankle padding) inversion table. The bolts, frame, parts and connections are all oversized, solid and heavy -- This table will last a long time. I love that it's Made In Germany. If you're new to inversion tables and have a bad neck or back -- You need to get one of these. I spend less than 30 minutes on this each day and --WOW-- does my neck/back feel great!

Solid, comfortable - a good value for a higher end board,

This review is from: Kettler APOLLO Inversion Trainer Table (Sports)
This is a very nice product, affordably priced for the added value in comfort and durability, including cushy front and back padded ankle rollers which not all boards have. It's manufactured in Germany and has a solid well-constructed feel to it. Not flimsy or made with poor materials.
The back cushion is very comfortable and supportive and the whole unit is easily adjustable to be perfectly balanced depending on your height. My Mom, who is in her 70's, uses it with ease too. It has nice ergonomically curved handles which make it easy to come up again (from a decline position) no matter how far down you go, as opposed to other brands that only have a straight handle. The board folds and can be stood against the wall, but it still has more weight and depth than I expected. It will certainly not disappear into your closet - and honestly, to make the most use of it, it's better to have a place where it can be always set up - since folding and unfolding becomes a bit of a chore. The one disappointment was the instructions. They're very similar to IKEA's - a few sheets of paper, very few words, & not very thoroughly thought out - 2 or 3 times I had to undo things because I'd missed one detail. If you've ever put together IKEA furniture, you'll know what I'm talking about. But overall I highly recommend the Kettler board. It has the comfort and durability to last you for life.
