We gave this tractor/trailer combo to my 2.5 yr old son last year. He is now 3 yrs 8 months and I'd imagine he'd be riding it for quite sometime. He spends at least an hour or two with it a day, loading it, unloading somewhere else, backing it up, etc. In the house. Outside has been OK - would be fine on a flat driveway, even lawn, but hard to pedal on more challenging terrain. For the past several months he has thoroughly enjoyed putting toys away via bucket loader, and laundry in hamper via trailer. His 2 year old sister can't quite reach the pedals yet. Oh, here he comes now with stuff to unload in the toybox. How great is that? And now he's backing up to hitch the trailer on, to take out the laundry. For an industrious kid, this is worth every penny. I am going to post a photo soon. Oh, this is the first review I have ever felt inspired to write. It's that worth it.

My wife bought this for our boys 2nd birthday and I decided to put off the assembly until the morning of this birthday.. that was a mistake. The instructions are weak to be honest (or maybe my brain just wasnt fuctioning that early in the morning).. there are lots of color coded 11 digit numbers everywhere on the instructions which serve no purpose that I could discern.

If like me you make a mistake and hammer on the secure end-caps to the wheels after screwing up on the first step and you need to get them off - heres how... you will never remove the caps by force. Just tap the little notches on the side of the cap with a hammer and tiny screwdriver or awl and the cap will release... it took me a lot of sweat and tears before I realised this.

Finally, does our 2 year old like it?... sure he does but he hasnt figured out how to pedal it yet. Another reviewer said it was small - I dont agree, its quite big and has a very big turning circle. It is very sturdy and is well constructed and will probably last years.

Finally, find some quiet time and place to do the assembly and you should have no problems.

This tractor is an excellent toy. It is very durable and can handle anything my son throws at it. I love the fact that any child will be able to use it and also grow into it as they get older and bigger. Assembly was a little tricky due to the fact the none of the directions were in English(they were in German). Take your time putting it together, the diagrams are very good and should be enough to get it done. A must for any boy, or girl, who loves "big diggers."

So I splurged. I found this tractor on sale... seriously on sale, after having priced it upwards of $199. I can't believe I found it for $[...] here at Amazon. I expected it to arrive in about 3 weeks but received notification that it had shipped the next day! And my FREE shipping came via FedEx! Ordered on Monday... arrived on Thursday. Fantastic! So from the very start I was extremely excited about this product and I hadn't even opened the box!

Okay... the instructions were tricky, but I'd been forewarned by these reviews, so I expected it. I arranged the individual sheets of instruction based on what order it looked like they might go in and started. I quickly discovered that each page had its own bag of parts. That helped. :) And I noticed that each picture had what looked like part numbers, but they were actually 'go in this order' numbers... so that simplified things a bit. There were a couple tricky parts to identify... but going back to the part where each page had its own parts bag helped solve that particular issue. It took about an hour before Joe was ready to climb on and go. :)

Again, because I'd read the reviews, I didn't expect this tractor to work in the heavy clay soil we have here and made a plan to have a softer compost pile for him to dig in. Age wise, he's only 2 years and 3 months old and hasn't figured out the pedaling yet, but that's a skill we can work on. He LOVES to push it and loves to pull it by the bucket... and can scoot it with his feet just fine. His main concern was that bucket and figuring out how to lower it to the ground and how to dump things out. That was his goal for the first couple days.

I can already tell this tractor is going to give him many, many hours of fun, not just this summer, but I imagine for several summers to come. Now to build a little tractor shelter to park it in. :)

I was exceptionally pleased with this tractor. It was very well built, appears to be very sturdy and well constructed. It is exactly as pictured and described and really exceeded my expectations. The instructions are in German, but by following the well-illustrated, visual instructions, it is easy to put together since it is so logically packed. It does take some time (2 hours) but was enjoyable to do. I was very pleased with Amazon's ordering, prompt delivery and follow-up.

Wonderful, well-built toy! I was very pleased with the quality and sturdiness of the whole unit, designed to withstand the tests of strong imaginations - like my rough and tumble toddler nephew! He loves it! Especially attaching and unattaching the trailer. The hood is a great feature too! He's quickly learning coordination to use the front loader. Dirt piles beware - just remind to "beep" when backing up! Great for any child that loves to move and haul!

I put it under the Christmas tree and my 2yr old grandson covered his face with awe and wonder. He was excited beyond excitement. When putting it together we could see the fine choice of materials. The parts were crafted for complete safety. It is heavy. It will not turn over. It actually works!! In minutes my grandson had grasped the mechanism to pick something up in the bucket and then dump it. He plays with it every day and I have searched for other Kettler products to buy for him. The craftsmanship, the accuracy with the real thing, and the metal parts and large tires make it an excellent choice. His 8 year old brother also plays with it. It was a great purchase at an affordable price, and delivered securely by Fed Ex.

I bought this for my nephew for Christmas. He is two (2) and he father runs heavy equipment. He thinks he is so big. He loves the tractor. He thinks he has to go to work everyday just like his dad. According to his parents, it was a little hard to put together, but well worth it from the way he responded when he saw it. Would highly recommend this product.

I bought this for my 3 1/2 yr old son for Christmas. He was the happiest boy in the world when he saw it!! It's the perfect size for him to ride through our apartment, and very sturdy - my 20 month old daughter sits in the back trailer part while he peddles her around!! It took me quite a while to put together, as the instructions take careful consideration - they are just pictures, the numbers don't mean anything. I am extremely pleased with this product, as is my son!! The only downfall is those terrible instructions, but if you're good at logical thinking, you'll definitely be able to put this together. I recommend this highly!!

Very sturdy, well made product. However, extremely hard to assemble, it took 2 people about 4 hours to put it together. The directions are by picture only. The parts are not labeled or described.
Also, my 2 1/2 year old has a hard time pedaling it. He knows how to pedal, but the tractor is too hard to pedal. He does love playing with it though; he likes loading, dumping & loading up the trailer. I would recommend it for 3+ years old.
