Different then the B70,
By Arthurdent3 (North Arlington , NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
I give this 3 stars just because it is a Keurig and the single serve system is great.I do however have a beef with this model. Not only is it more expensive than your BJ's or Costco it also lacks certain features you get when you purchase the B70 model. I just bought mine at BJ's and I am returning it to purchase a B70 model. The differences are: B70 ( Platinum ) Cup sizes up to 12oz Adjustable Temp Lacks the 72 K-Cups instead you get 12. B77 ( Select ) Stops at 10oz No Adjustable Temp. Bonus 72 K-Cups instead of the 12. If you don't care much for the differences then the extra K-cups might make it worth the buy. I would still suggest you get it from BJ's or Costco since this price is $30 more here than they have it for. I wanted the 12oz so I decided to forgo the extra k-cups and I am going for the B70 (Platinum).

The Keurig package to buy, but only if you can find a bargain,
By
This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
We've had ours for about two weeks and it is exactly what we wanted it to be. The coffee it makes is excellent, and with this particular package you're not locked into the (rather expensive) K-Cups since it comes with a My K-Cup filter for your own coffee, and if you don't mind paying for the K-Cups there's still a huge selection available, starting with Keurig's parent company Green Mountain Coffee and extending to several other smaller specialty coffee roasters. It's dead simple to use and even knocks out a couple of useless features from the B70 model (the unnecessary temperature control and the pathetically weak 11-oz serving size). On the whole, this package is an excellent bargain for a single-serve coffee maker -- if you know where to look.I'm not too sure what's going on with the pricing on Amazon's partners here, but we wound up buying ours at a warehouse store and saving thirty dollars off the street price for a B70; considering what the K-Cups go for and how much the filter adapter costs, we essentially got the coffee maker for not much more than the price of the Mini. The price difference between there and here led me to knock a star off the rating. The upshot, though, is that if you're going to buy a Keurig brewer and you don't think the Keurig Mini will suit your needs (the B77 has a water tank suitable for 4-6 people), this is the brewer and package to get.

Great coffee, great hot chocolate, great coffee maker,

This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
I'd been searching for a coffee maker for some time. So many look good and the price range is ridiculous, what does a girl buy? I knew I didn't want a coffee maker with a large pot, my husband doesn't drink coffee and I typically drink one or two cups. I owned a Senseo at one time but primarily used it for tea, the coffee always had a funky cardboard taste to me. To get a decent selection of coffees or teas I had to go online, it just wasn't convenient to have to order my pods and wait for them. The Keurig is a whole different story. I was at at store and saw this, I was still on the fence until I saw this new model could make a glass of iced tea as well. Needless to say I was sold, yay for impulse buying!! I love how quick this makes coffe, tea and hot chocolate. The manual says it could take over a minute for a cup but I've found it's always less than a minute. I also love the fact I can locally buy the K-cups if I run out or I can use the mycup if I want to use my own coffee or tea. My in-laws came out for a couple of weeks and they fell in love with this too. They are the typical older parents, they know what they like and don't want to change. They like their Folgers Classic and that's what they wanted to drink. I knew they could use the Mycup but I had no idea on the amount or if the taste would be different. I had only used Mycup for tea, which it worked fine for. They came out, I should them how to use it and I think they liked this machine a little more everyday. About a week into their visit they said they wanted one for home and the Keurig actually made the coffee taste better. Oh, and I like the light for the water reservoir. It's bright enough to act as a night light in the kitchen but not so bright it's annoying. The light also blinks when the water gets low, again a nice, non-annoying way to let me know to fill it. Pros: Easy to use Easier to clean than a coffee maker Saves money, no wasted coffee Brews a better cup of coffee Brew good hot chocolate, we use the Cafe Escapes K-cups Easy to find K-cups locally and are cheaper than online Everyone can get the coffee, tea, hot chocolate they want Brews quickly Cons: Now we have to buy one for the in-laws Reservoir could be bigger but then I suppose it would make the foot print bigger, which I wouldn't want.

If you love Iced Lattes you'll love this!!,
By SadiePoo (Arizona) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
I bought this because my family has different schedules for work and we are all coffee drinkers. I was constantly pouring out an entire pot of coffee or the last one out the door would stop at Starbuck's because the coffee had gone stale. The Keurig has been perfect, now everyone can have a fresh cup of coffee on their schedule. My daughter loves Iced Lattes and would stop at Starbuck's or MacDonald's everyday to purchase one (at approx. $4). She found the iced beverage feature on the Keurig. Just fill your glass with ice, use the Iced beverage setting with your favorite coffee and add some Vanilla flavored Coffeemate (or your flavor of choice). This is just as good as any Iced Latte I have ever purchased and WAY cheaper!! The only problem is now I am hooked on them!!! The coffee assortment is great because it lets you find which coffees you like or would not buy again without purchasing an entire box.

Quiet, Fast, Convenient, makes great coffee,

This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
Be aware that the "big-box" retailers will sell this B77 brand-new, factory sealed, with 72 k-cups for 139 which is a much more compelling buy than the currently listed price on this listing on Amazon. The Keurig B77 surpassed my expectations. I read all the horror stories but also read the glowing reviews. I have had no issues. I've had it about a month and we make 8-10 cups of coffee a day. It is quiet, it is fast and it is super convenient. I use a third-party basket which enables me to use my own coffee thus saving a significant amount of money on K-cups. But I also use K-cups and they are so convenient to use. You can even re-use the K-cups if you learn the technique. In my video review I grabbed the wrong stuff out of my cabinet when explaining how to re-use a K-cup... what you want to use to seal the top of the k-cup is something similar to "Press-n-Seal." For me, the Keurig B77 is a winner. Sorry that the audio is a little wonky on the video. I decided to overdub my voice for most of the video since my camera audio quality was not very good. Unfortunately it resulted in a less than perfect audio track.

Keurig B77 the Coffee Maker to Have...,
By
This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
I just got my Keurig B77 coffee maker about a week ago and I love it. It makes the best drip coffee I have had and it makes it really fast. This model is quiet and easy to use. The only time it makes any noise is when it is first turned on and is priming itself. I like coffee that has lots of flavor but is not burnt or bitter tasting and this machine delivers just that. I bought my coffee maker at Costco for about $150.00. It included 72 K-cups and the re-usable filter that can be used for your own ground coffee. It also had a helpful information packet that tells about the different kinds of coffee. Keurig will also give you a good deal on k-cups when you register your coffee maker online. You buy two boxes of K-cups and get two free plus free shipping and 10% off. If you do not have a Costco membership, BestBuy has the B70 model with K-cups and filter for a reasonable price.Bottom line the Keurig B77 makes a good tasting, hot(hot enough to burn your tongue)cup of coffee fast.

Simple to use and great coffee,
This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
Just purchased this unit and love it. My wife and I do not drink pots of coffee a day so being able to quickly brew a single great cup of coffee is awesome. We are not throwing away our old coffee pot so we can brew more when friends come over. Brewing tons of coffee could get expensive.

Best appliance I have ever purchased!,
By Headed 4 the tropics (Chicago , IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
I purchased this maker after our standard one died recently. I looked into a single serve because I was tired of drinking stale coffee or pouring 3/4 of a pot down the drain on a daily basis. My son, husband and I all have different tastes, and schedules...making it impossible for a standard maker to meet all our needs. We could not be happier and all agree it is the best appliance to enter our lives! The K-Cups are great and offer a flavor and strength to meet everyone's needs..period. They are easy, there is NO cleanup and I will NEVER have to wash a carafe again let alone break one. I used to dread the task of making the coffee, just because it seemed to take forever and the flavor ( for some reason) was hit and miss. I now stumble into the kitchen and even with one eye open, I am able to make a strong cup of joe in literally 30 seconds! If I do not want the strength or flavor the rest of the clan wants..no biggie, make your own! The little ones in our family loved it too and feel grown up because of the hot cocoa K-cups...they love this feature.I have to agree with previous posters regarding the iced feature...it is GREAT! I would stop daily for an iced latte somewhere and now do not need to....so very cool. Just load your glass with ice, choose your flavor and hit the button. It will prepare a strong shot of joe that tastes perfect. I personally add a flavor, fat free cream, splenda and I am a happy happy girl...with my wad o cash still in my pocket and not in Starbuck's ( or elsewhere) cash drawer. As far as the design goes, it is beautiful and looks really chic sitting on othe counter with the blue lights/glow. People have commented on it and how "cool" it is several times. I got a really cool glass jar to store the K-Cups in so that they are visable yet look nice too, rather than the lazy susan things...and it holds 3 x's as much. You can shop around for the K-cups for pricing, tons of online sources that are very competitive. When you first receive your Keurig though, go to their website to register and if you buy 2 boxes of K-cups, they will send you 2 (of your choice)for free with free shipping and 10% off. Good deal.... LOVE LOVE love this coffee maker!

Love the coffee; hate the brewer,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Keurig Single Serve Coffee and Tea Brewing System (Kitchen)
The coffee is excellent. Each cup is fresh and full flavored; just as good as any high-end coffee shop. The k-cups are convenient and with the huge variety available everyone can have a cup of "their choice" coffee.I wish the brewer worked as well. The machine turns off without warning. Just turns off and you have to play a "which button do I push" guessing game to get it to brew. It also has randomly superheated the water to the point of being dangerous. I returned my unit to the seller which is a huge hassle for both the seller and me. The manufacturer must know this is a systemic problem and stop selling the units until it is fixed. It's another made-in-China piece of crap. I thought, silly-me, with a name like Keurig the unit had roots in Europe -- countries known for high production values. So they want you to think European-made and in truth, it's China-made garbage. Aaaaargh.

nice, when it works,
By Fancy Trimmins (Northeast USA) - See all my reviews

Been watching these for quite some time. Finally saw this B77 on QVC for $139 and change PLUS it came with 72 K-cups and the "MY K-Cup" included for that low price;got it on a day with free s&h offered also.Removal from shipping carton was a breeze (provided one follows the instructions placed directly inside the top flap for removal, otherwise, you have a 30-minute fight on your hands and the brewer is going to win inside the carton). Set up is a breeze provided you have a dedicated outlet for it. It is quiet, nice looking, functional - for about 6 days. On the 6th day it kept turning itself off after each brewing cycle. On the 7th day it kept indicating "add water" when the reservoir was full. On the 8th day, when I managed to get it to stay 'on' long enough to make a cup of coffee/tea, no matter what capacity setting I had it on, it had a mind of its own. Getting it to dispense the appropriate amount of water for the cup size I had programmed was a crap shoot. If I programmed small, I got large, if I programmed large, I got small or medium. One time I programmed medium and it overran my travel mug which is large...what a mess. Thank goodness it was just water for my good old tea bag in the mug so I didn't have too much to clean up. (Note: when the machine turns itself 'off', according to the troubleshooting section of the manual, it is time to 'descale' the brewer which is required every 3-6 months depending on what type of water is being used. However, after 5 days use, I didn't think descaling was necessary and if it was, I was pretty sure I wouldn't be happy or willing to be descaling this thing every week). Because I had already registered the warranty with Keurig, I contacted their CS via e-mail. Their website advises a 1-3 day period for a response based on their 'busiest time of the year'...ok, if they say so. I think it is their busiest time of year because this is a piece of junk (for a lot more reviews on this particular model, check out QVCs reviews on Item #K30256 which is no longer available but the reviews are still there).Had I read the QVC reviews and not merely the Amazon reviews, I never would have purchased this product no matter what the price. Anyway, contacting Keurig CS - got an acknowledgement in a day and a response in exactly 3 days. They are sending a replacement complete with free K-cups (48) and I can trash the original product; no need to spend the time or money to send it back to either them or QVC. If you're salivating over this machine, do your homework. Read every review you can find before deciding. Wish I had been more astute in my research. My replacement arrived this morning from Keurig via Fed Ex (can you believe that?) and unlike the original, I don't seem to have any excitement at setting it up and trying it out but I know I must. For now, it is sitting on the floor in the shipping carton calling my name but I'm ignoring it while I listen to the pounding rain on the roof and sip my tea made the good old fashioned way...tea kettle and tea bag. |
