Keurig does not recommend these any longer,
By Scott (Massachusetts, USA) - See all my reviews

I bought two of these filters. I installed one in my B70 at home and the other in my B60 in my office. The B70 continues to work but the B60 is no longer working. The pump runs and makes noise but the machine does not take in water. I contacted Keurig who told me that the newer machines have a "more sensitive" pump and that these filters have been causing problems. Sounds like the newer machines have a weaker pump that can't pull the water through. Since removing the filter, the machine only sometimes works so Keurig has offered to replace it with a new machine. They recommended I remove the filter from my B70 before it also breaks and offered me a free 24 pack of coffee to make up for the $36 I spent on these two filters (purchased from Bed, Bath and Beyond) Good cust service, no complaints there... but I don't recommend his filter (and Keurig agrees)

I received a new Keurig for my birthday and I love it. I bought the filter separately after worrying about the minerals in my water. The first time I used it was a disaster. The machine only gave me half cup of coffee, made horrible noises and kept shutting off. I was afraid the machine was ruined but it worked fine without the filter. I decided to give it one more try before calling Keurig. I felt that it hadn't been seated down right in the water reservoir so I installed the bottom part of the filter assembly in the empty tank first. It snapped in much better than trying to push the whole thing on at once. I tested it and water ran through great. I then carefully snapped the top half (with filter) into the bottom part of the assembly and crossed my fingers. Tested it again and to my delight the water ran through beautifully. Then tried again with coffee and had a great cup of coffee. I also soaked my filter for 30 minutes instead of 5minutes so it was thoroughly saturated. A little trouble but worth it. Hope this helps.

Must have for your Keurig brewer!,

I love my Keurig brewer and thought the taste of my coffee brewed in it was fine, but after my first cup after installing the filter attachment the difference was amazing! This is a must have if you have a brewer that fits this attachment, it makes your Keurig experience even better! Easy to install and replace the filters!

This filter works as described. There is one unfortunate draw back with its use - The filter housing blocks the blue light in the reservoir, making it more difficult to see the water level.

Our tap water needs to be filtered...this was the perfect solution. Can't say that I actually 'taste' a difference in the non-filtered vs. the filtered, but knowing what isn't in my coffee now makes me feel better.

Seemed like a good idea at the time...,

I bought a Keurig unit a week ago, and it came with a bonus "gift" of the water filter accessory. Initially, it seemed an odd fit in the water container portion of the unit, but I was able to place it there. The next morning, when I turned on the unit, it would not stay on. Every time I turned it on, it would turn off again within a few seconds. The water wouldn't heat and the unit wouldn't stay on. I removed the water filter accessory and have had no problems since. I don't know what the connection is, but the unit wasn't happy when the water filter accessory was attached. I use water from a Brita filter pitcher so I don't really need the Keurig filter. Seemed like a good idea at the time....

The water in our area has kind of a metallic taste to it (not too bad, but bad enough), so I thought I'd try this and see if it made any improvement to an already good cup of coffee.I have a Keurig B40 Elite that I bought this past October. After soaking and rinsing the filter as per the instructions, I installed it, and made a cup of coffee. Well, I *tried* to make a cup. The coffee maker sounded like a vacuum cleaner with a hamster caught in the hose, and the water level in the reservoir didn't drop at all. I turned it off, pulled the filter unit out and left it out, tried again and it worked fine. I tried a couple more times using the filter; filling the reservoir and then snapping the filter unit in place; putting the filter in, then filling it and letting it sit overnight, but nothing I tried would allow the pump to pull water through it. I guess if I want filtered water, I'll have to filter it before I fill the reservoir.

When I purchased this item the photo was a box of the actual filter assembly that came with a couple of starter disposable filters. Instead I received 6 disposable filters and no filter assembly. Be careful you're ordering what you think you're ordering.

I was shocked when my Keurig brewer recommended using filtered or distilled water. At first I used tap water but worried about the side-effects of mineral build up on my much loved Keurig. Filling the water tank several times a day with bottled water was an expensive hassle. This little filter solved the problem. I was really surprised that using the filter made such a distinct difference in the flavor of my coffee and tea. Installation is quick and easy and there is no maintenance to worry about --nothing to do but enjoy your beverages for 60 days since each charcoal cartridge lasts for two months. The filter also has a reminder that you set to help you remember when to put in a new filter cartridge. This is a definite must for hassle free enjoyment of your Keurig. The small price greatly increases the value of your expensive Keurig brewer. Get this and change the filter as needed. You will love your Keurig even more!

This filter was easy to install. Just drain the reservoir and it clicks right into place. I didn't have to man-handle it to get it to fit. Prepping the filter is super easy, just soak and rinse. There is a dial on the top of the filter housing to remind you how long the filter will last. Since the dial does not move on its own or monitor how much water passes through the filter I don't really see the point of it. Since we have a Keurig here at work I just use an Outlook calendar pop up to remind me when it needs to be changed. We installed the filter because a co-worker said he had scaling issues with his Keurig at home because he used unfiltered tap water. The tap water here at work is pretty hard, hence the filter purchase. We haven't had any scaling issues so far and the water does taste better. The difference is especially notable when making hot chocolate or tea.
