only had this for a few days haven't used it for I purchased it for yet which is making my own tahini for my hummus only because I still have hummus. I did open the bag immediately upon receiving it and had to taste them. YUM!!! I could taste the freshness and there was now bitter dirt taste like with the previous brand I was using. Which I didn't realize until I tasted these seeds. I did eat a spoon of my other seeds first and then a spoon of these and there was a big difference in flavor. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is interested in a more organic diet.

This is the first time I ordered unhulled sesame seeds, so I did notice they had a little bit of a bitter taste, but that's only because I am munching on the hulls! Though they are super fresh, clean and delicious, and have extra calcium due to the hulls, I'll probably go back to the hulled seeds next time.

Kevala sells the rare black sesame seeds, try those. Sesame is the king of nutrients when it comes to minerals so important to me as a whole delicious seed; calcium, magnesium, zinc and Phytosterol with the healthiest fat.

The most important hormone, and the one that's crucial for weight loss, is insulin. Insulin is the hormone that controls fat storage. A high-carb diet increases the amount of glucose in the bloodstream, which in turn means you produce more insulin. The more insulin the body produces, the more fat gets stored. A low-carb diet means less insulin, making it easier to lose weight because less fat is then stored. For intake of a massive 5,000 calories every day for three weeks with calories from a low-fat, high-carb diet; and for another three weeks with calories from more fat no carbs with exactly the same amount of calories, with moderate exercise regimen each time; low-fat diet stacked on 16 lb with 3.7" (9.5 cm) around the middle where the high fat diet offered a loss of 2.5 lb and loss of 1"(2.5 cm) from waistline. If calorie is calorie, then in my case and my experience shows that I would prefer to get my calories from a healthy fat from sesame seed and almond than the calories from the carbs in chia.

I had wanted to make tahini butter because those on the shelves have very low calcium content. After some research, I realized that this was due to the Sesame Seeds used in the process were hulled. I also learned that those unhulled, provide a MUCH higher calcium content. I made the tahini butter in my high speed blender. It is delicious. Thank you Kelava for keeping those little jackets on.

The sesame seeds come packaged in a sturdy resealable pack, which I find convenient. They are fresh and taste delicious, and I've found them ideal for hummus.

We eat these raw and through them on everything. Even put them in smoothies. Loaded with vitamins and calcium. Great for the health conscious. Quality product. Would buy again.

This is a smart buy, especially if you use a lot of sesame seeds. To keep them fresh, I reseal the bag and keep it in the freezer, then use the seeds right from the freezer.

Whats not to like. I grind them and use a tablespoon in my smoothie every day. I grind enough to last me a week or 10 days. They taste great. I keep the bag in the refrigerator. It's much cheaper buying this amount than buying a small amount in the supermarket every 3 weeks. I know there are other uses for them and I plan on using them on salads too.
