Adorable and clever book about twins, July 22, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Kevin and Ben (Paperback)
This book is a book about identical twins designed for the young preschool reader. Although the illustrations aren't quite as wonderful as the text, the book is a delight both aurally and visually. Kevin and Ben are identical twin boys who bring their parents joy, exhausation and even confusion -- their parents can't tell them apart at one point. I won't spoil the surprise by telling you how the mistake is ultimately set right.
Written in clever and readable rhyme, the book follows the boys from birth to big boy-hood and concludes with a really touching observation that, despite some of the inevitable pitfalls of having an identical twin, there is a special quality to the relationship that more than compensates for those pitfalls.
A must-read for anyone with young twins and a pleasure for anyone with young children.
I only wish this book were published in hardcover, as it should be to match its status as a classic.
