Watch Out For This Superstar,
By James Caponigro (Suwanee, Georgia USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kevin Denney (Audio CD)
Have you been disappointed with all the new country artists recording lately? It seems when you hear a good song on the radio, you get disappointed after you buy the CD to realize that their material is mostly rock. Get ready for this superstar. He's George Strait, Gene Watson, and Keith Whitley rolled into one. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed with any song on this CD. Not since Tracy Byrd's original CD has anyone excited me so much with his songs and voice. A voice from the past with no stupid or silly songs included.

This cd is absolutely wonderful! Anybody who says otherwise is out of their mind, there's not a song on this cd that I don't like. From the opening note of "It Don't Matter" to the beautiful ending song "Daddy Was A Navy Man" it is all together one of the greatest cds I have ever purchased. Full of melody and heart this cd is a MUST have! For lyrics and more information on Kevin Denney be sure to check out [url]

Traditional and Contemporary--What a Combination!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Kevin Denney (Audio CD)
A masterful work from one of the best new traditional artists to come out of Nashville in some time. "That's Just Jessie" is very traditional and radio-friendly at the same time--a refreshing and unfortunately rare feat these days. "It Don't Matter" is also a potential single--relatable and realistic lyrics. "It'll Go Away" is a superbly written song that takes you back to the old days when we all had that beat up pickup truck. "We Rhyme" is a very strong and relatable and a definite single. Denney's tribute to George Jones is in "My Kind of Song" is all the more pertinent due to the fact that he recently remodeled Jones' swimming pool. "Daddy was a Navy Man" is a great tribute--particularly at this time in US history. Overall--a great first effort by a traditional artist who can write and sing his own stuff! The fact that he sounds like Keith Whitley doesn't seem to hurt either.

Classic country,
By A Fan (VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kevin Denney (Audio CD)
This is a nice collection of classic-style country songs by Kevin Denney. The album was a top 15 hit on the US Country chart when it was released in 2002 and produced two top 40 country hits, "That's Just Jessie" (which peaked at 16 on the Country singles chart and crossed over to the Billboard Hot 100 chart reaching 76) and my favorite "Cadillac Tears". A third singles just missed making the Country Top 40, the ballad "It'll Go Away". Denney has a nice country voice and obvious talent; I am not sure why a second album by him has yet to be released. But this is a nice collection of songs.

Now this is Country,

I was so happy when I heard this album to see that this new singer out called Kevin Denney is actually singing traditional style country music. This is a rare thing you see these days in country music. The whole album is something all country fans need to check out this guy gets it right. The songs are fun and there are really nice ballads like That's just Jessie. Then there is real light fun stuff like Cadillac Tears. Really good album the best debut from a country artist in a long time. Try not to miss this one.

I heard Cadillac Tears on the internet so I thought I'd check out the cd. After checking out the songs I figured I'd pass on the cd. The only one that has individuality is "Cadillac Tears". The rest are all the same old new country ballads. I will download CTs and be happy.

That's Just It...,

I expected more than just one great song when I bought this CD. Kevin Denney is doomed to be a One Hit Wonder. His album has a couple of fairly good songs ("We Rhyme" & "Daddy Was a Navy Man"), but not [worth the price] good. Save your money and buy the "That's Just Jessie" single.
