The memory techniques work, but Kevin does a poor job of presenting the material. If you really want to learn how to have a super memory, try Harry Lorayne's tapes or any other author. The only good thing with my purchase, was that they were willing to give me a full refund.

Back in approximately 1990, I bought the Mega Memory tapes with a friend of mine. She didn't apply the techniques and didn't get any benefit from them. I did use the techniques disclosed & didn't even go through the whole program. I had a management class test at Eastern Michigan University that covered over 12 chapters (the most I had experienced in college). I didn't study until the night before the test, frantically using the "memory system" to "peg" as much information that I could. I got the highest test score in the class.

Surprisingly, a year after that class, I saw another person from that class and they remembered talking to the management instructor. The instructor was surprised that I got the highest score on that that test because 1) I sat in the back of the class & 2)My major wasn't in management (most of everyone in the class, who were expected to do better than me, were in a "related" major to the management field).

I'm not telling people to wait until the last moment to study for tests and then use these techniques. It just happened that I put myself in a position to have to "Cram" for it.

THIS PROGRAM WORKS & is fun learning it because it engages your mind & associates more "interesting" things with the "not so interesting" topic to be studied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motivational, impressive and good direction!, September 4, 2001
This review is from: Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory (Audio Cassette)
I have just finished the full 8 tape series of Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory, which I purchased after watching Kevin Trudeau impressively recall a list of items within minutes on television! I've always had a poor memory and wanted to improve it.

I had no idea what to expect; and was very impressed. It's taken me about 3 weeks to complete the tape (about an hour a day during week-days only) and I'm impressed with what I can now remember. I can now easily remember anything I wanted to on 'pegs', to do lists without paper, names, faces, text (as much as I wanted to remember), spellings, numbers, foreign languages, car licence plates, (when I'm waiting in traffic, I find myself automatically practising memorising licence plates and car makes (grins)) - the harder things to do are the languages and say chunks of text. . This is just the beginning of what I can now remember in 3 weeks. It helps to have a really vivid imagination! I have review work to do over the next 21 days and really looking forward for when the memory techniques become automatic and faster and faster and second nature! I'm already impressing friends with what I can remember on lists; with practice I know my memory speeds will become faster and faster and hopefully get to the stage that Kevin was at on television! (yeah!)

It was easy to begin with and then the hard work began with the serious stuff (eg remembering chunks of text, foreign languages etc). Kevin is very motivational and he directs well and I stuck at the course, even when it got tough and painful on the brain (that's when I almost gave up - some three quarters into the series! yikes!) (I haven't used my 'brain' properly for a long while!!!! as I'm not a college student and haven't been 'studying' so to speak for about 15 years! During that 'stuck' phase where it felt painful, once I got through that 'mental' block (which took a few mins and some self talk), it became easier again - it's remembering that we can do it; and it is easy and possible. Kevin is with you throughout the way and he guides well in the 8 tape series; and the exercises are motivational and seeing your progress map out before your eyes is very inspiring! I'm amazed at how fast it all took. 3 weeks ago I never could have imagined that I can now remember makes of cars and licence plate numbers so easily in minutes and still remember them days later! (It's just a sample of what can be remembered and how the techniques can be used).

I will be purchasing Kevin's Advanced Mega Memory (8 tape series) fairly soon as that is the University version of the Mega Memory; whereas Mega Memory is the College version ! I'm looking forward to it.

p/s I'd personally say purchase the 8 tape series instead of the 1 tape series ! Go for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you "think" you have a bad memory, this is for you., September 17, 1999
This review is from: Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory (Audio Cassette)
The techniques that are taught in this set are so easy to use. I amazed my wife (and myself) by perfectly recalling a 15 item grocery list forwards and backwards after listening to the tapes for only 3 days. I'm a high-school drop out too, so if I can do it, anyone can.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop Thinking and Start Look Searching!, February 4, 2003
This review is from: Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory (Audio Cassette)
My title may seem obsure but this program covered a topic of getting stuck in the thinking process. Have you ever knew you knew someone's name but couldn't think of it? Well the reason is, because for many reason which are covered on these eight cassettes we get caught in the thinking stage. It's not until we allow are brain to relax and begin look searching do we find the information we are requesting.

I'm happy to say I didn't purchase this program. I was scanning the self help tapes at my public library and thought it sounded interesting. I use to have a terrbile time remembering names. Through this program, took me about a week to listen to both sides of the 8 cassettes. I learned how to use visuals put into a order and placed on a predetermined peg for later recovery. This program seriously works! To test it out, I had my mother make out a list of twenty random things. I without looking at them, I had her just read them off, pausing for about twenty seconds between each. After that I went and wrote down 16 out of that twenty. Which is remarkable considering I never looked at the list. The ones I got right were in perfect order and before I started this program I maxed out at 4. So in a week, I had a 400% increase in my ability to remember. This program seriously is mind altering and way worth the 90 bucks. But if you can borrow it from library do it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tool for memorizing simple facts and numbers!!!, April 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory (Audio Cassette)
After watching Kevin's infomercial on TV, I wasn't sure if it was a gimmick or not but I bought the tapes anyways. I am VERY pleased w/ the investment! The information and instructions on these tapes were well organized, simple to follow and entertaining. I found out after the fact that the methods Kevin used were "old" but he must be given some credit for his ability to market a product. The tapes helped me A LOT w/ memorizing names, phone numbers and To Do lists. However, if your looking for help on how to integrate technical information and solve complex physics equations, this is not for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Buy, July 31, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory (Audio Cassette)
This is the best buy I've made in a long time. The unique techniques described in these cassetts really, really work. The peging system described by KevinTrudeau make it nearly impossible to forget information, names, instructions, vocabulary, directions, ......... I think I've made my point here. Trust me, if this only worked half as good as what it did-- I would still be impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, February 12, 1999

I have all of these in this series. I also read other's bad reviews of the information. Keep in mind that you get exactly what you put in. I wonder what these people would rate a typing course? If you don't spend time rehersing "home-row" you'll never break the 60 wpm barrier. Excellent purchase if your willing to put in the EFFORT to get the REWARD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, January 12, 2012
This review is from: Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory (Audio Cassette)
I went through most of Kevin Trudeau's mega memory course and I was pleased with the results. I can now go to a party and meet 15 people and remember all of their names, I can make an ordered grocery list and commit it to memory like a photo in minutes. Needless to say the course is awesome, and I saw a comment where someone was saying google his name and he was sued by the FTC. I challenge anyone to google his name and read through the articles that bash him and find one where they actually attack his message instead of his character. Good luck, Ive read his books and they all have good info, maybe he is a bit of a salesman but in my opinion he is attacked because he gives good info and explains why the government/corporate relationships don't want you to know that information.
