I can see that people wouldn't like having to deal with the tiny screw in the back for the battery. But I think the reasoning behind this was so that the batteries won't come out if it's in your pocket/purse or if it's dropped/thrown. I don't know how sturdy it would be if you were *trying* to break it, but it sure is a loud little thing. The light is nice, too. Just be sure to take it out of your pocket if you're going to turn on the sound. Overall, 5 stars because you get what you pay for.

If you realize that this product is not supposed to be terribly sturdy, then it's good for what it is. The battery is a little difficult to put in because the screw is so small but it's nice and loud and serves my purposes nicely.

I like the product. Very helpful as a security issue, but I gave up one star because it in not easy to open a back cover to replace a battery.

This thing is a pretty good deal, I bought this for my dad, since he can't scream to get help or when he need something or in case of emergency, I get this one to make it like an emergency alarm.

I don't know why so many people have a problem with the screw on the back, is not so small, you can easy find a screwdriver for that, I just need to try 2 the standard that anyone have at home and one just a little smaller, not big deal.

The sound is very loud and annoying, but thats exactly the idea, I don't think people go to the stores and say "I want a smoke detector that let me sleep at night".

The light is nice too, is not exactly a flashlight, but good enough for walk around the house at night. Plus the price is just fine.

The key chain alarm was inexpensive, so I guess you get what you pay for. The company also sells gag and joke products, so that tells you something. I was willing to take the risk of getting a poor alarm because of the low price. The flashlight works fine. The alarm works, too, but it sounds more like a bird than anything that would scare a criminal away.

This little alarm is really great and loud as hell. It would scare anyone away that was within 100 feet. The little light is nice but I have not needed to use it. The batteries to replace are pretty expensive so I have just reordered another alarm instead of buying a battery for it. Would definately recommend for women to have.

We purchased this from a different ad on Amazon, where the photo was a little different, but we believe we actually got this alarm. If you read our review of the alarm we bought in the other ad, and look at our photos, you'll understand why we feel we recieved this one. The photo of this item has changed since my review was first posted. The photo posted as of 1/2/12 is NOT the one we purchased. This happens often (image changes) and is sometimes the reason people give bad reviews - they don't get what is in the photo. And, about an hour later, the photo is back to what it was before. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE DON'T GET WHAT THEY ORDER!!

I bought this on another site (actually bought 10 to share with my daughter's friends) and one didn't work at all, one had buttons that stuck, and I found mine had been going for hours in my purse when I got up one morning - I guess something triggered it - but no one touched it. This is a very cheap product, i.e. the buttons are not reliable and I would hate for anyone to be counting on it in a dangerous situation and it not perform. $3.00 isn't a bad price, but I think it 's best to spend $10.- on a better quality and have it perform when needed.

Excellent Alarm at a Reasonable Price. I carry this on my key chain next to my Mace for an added layer of personal protection.

My kids take these everywhere when I ask. Alarm is loud an would definately get the attention of others when needed.
