American geographers need basic concepts to understand advanced Geography, August 21, 2007
This review is from: Key Concepts in Geography (v. 1) (Paperback)
I have this book and Key Methods in Geography in the same series.
See the other review by student K McClane. The probable reason NMSU geography professors chose this book for their Las Cruces geography grad students (it's written by UK geographers)has to do with the lack of adequate American texts on the subject of geography concepts. It's not perfect, but I dare any other American geography grad student to find something comparable for advanced cultural and physical geographers in training in the U.S.

This book sucks, June 30, 2007
This review is from: Key Concepts in Geography (v. 1) (Paperback)
This was a required textbook for a research course. What a waste of time. Geography is a broad and interesting field. The book was mostly a boring presentation of boring subjects. I would rather have read something by E.O. Wilson or some other brilliant scientist. It's the only textbook I have ever given away to the nearest taker.
