Sadie Hoffmiller is finishing out what is left of her community service. Sadie has recently gotten close to Eric Burton. Eric is also finishing up his community service. While talking, Eric receives a phone call from the Miami police. They police have found a body that they believe is Eric's missing daughter, Megan. Eric makes things a bit uncomfortable for Sadie when he invites her to come down with him. Sadie must decide whether to go with Eric or say home with her sheriff boyfriend, Pete Cunningham. Oh what is a girl to do!

Key Lime Pie is the fourth Sadie Hoffmiller novel. I believe this book can be read as a stand alone novel. There are a few references made about what transpired in the prior novel but nothing that won't trip up the readers from jumping right into this book. It is the second novel I have read by Mrs. Kilpack. I really love Sadie. She is such a busybody but at the same time she is so sweet that you can forgive her for being in everyone's business. I wished that I could have gotten to know Eric better. I didn't really connect with him, so it was kind of hard for me to feel for him and what he was going through with his daughter.

Of course, a bonus to these books are the yummy recipes inserted throughout the book. I don't know what to do next when a recipe comes up...either stop reading to cook and try out the recipe or keep reading! I can't wait to serve me up another slice of Sadie Hoffmiller.

This is an intense installment in the Sadie Hoffmiller Culinary Mystery Series.

Sadie adores Pete but can't ignore that their is a certain chemistry with Eric, the Clyde to her Bonnie. So when Pete bows out gracefully, and Eric seems to be in trouble, Sadie flies to Miami to see if she can help. She walks into a far larger mess than she imagined possible, Eric is in overhead, and drags Sadie in with him.

Once again, I feel Josi S. Kilpack has left the cozy of culinary cozies far behind... and I like it. While the mystery unravel a little slower than the last book, it's no less enticing. The plot is a little more direct, with fewer surprises, but the journey is a good one.

Again, Sadie pushes the envelope with her investigation, going perhaps further than I would, but she stays true to her gutsy self. She also has learned a bit of a lesson about interfering with a police investigation from her last adventure, but Eric puts her in a bad position and circumstances prevail... however, it's nice to see the character of Sadie growing and learning from her mistakes and from some introspection she was previously lacking.

I must admit, I love the direction Kilpack is taking this series, while still managing to include her marvelous recipes. I can't wait for the next addition to the Sadie Hoffmiller Culinary Mystery Series!

Way to go Josi Kilpack with another deliciously delightful read! Key Lime Pie holds a special place in my heart and now I can associate one of my favorite pies with one of my favorite characters Sadie Hoffmiller. In this volume of Sadie's saga, she finds out the truth about Eric Burton her alternate love interest.

She stirs up a whole mess of trouble for a whole mess of new characters as she follows Eric to Miami, Florida home to weed out the truth about Eric's missing daughter Megan. Great book to show a friend that there's more to a new romance than meets the eye and ya better check things out totally before diving in all the way...

Recipes include Cajun Coleslaw, Remoulade, Gumbo, Fruity Pasta Salad, Southern BBQ slow cooked chicken, and of course the piece de la resistance Key Lime Pie! I'm getting hungry just writing this review, better head into the kitchen and get cooking.

This book was really good. It me guessing right up til the very end. I was so surprised to find out who was behind it all (and to think he was just helping Sadie. psh. Should have known better.) I was upset with Sadie through out this book though because never saw how much Pete cared for her or how much she was meant to be with him and not Erik (I never liked Erik). It works out in the end though.
I have read the first three books in this series and have become a huge fan. Can't wait to read Blackberry crumble.

Culinary + mystery=one fantastic novel! That's just what this book was! Josi Kilpack has mad writing skills as an author. I loved how she instantly captured me with both the humor aspect, and the mysterious aspect, and added depth with a romance aspect, too! Her characters were gripping and kept me hooked through out.

I really loved Sadie's character, bless her heart. She was a witty one, who just can't sit still long enough to mind her own business and not be a busy body. Enter humor aspect. She's a sweet character, who loves to eat good old Southern food (mmmm! No wonder I love her character!) but she has one eensie little problem...she seems to be involved in murder investigations when she tries to help out....hmmmmm. Enter mysterious aspect. Sadie, while witty and loveable, just can't help being in other people's affairs to "lend a hand" and some cookies!

Oh, and Sadie has another problem..she's got TWO guys in her life and she's just not sure which one she wants to end up with. Especially when one of them is a person who's directly connected to the murder investigation. Enter a romance aspect.

I am trying to keep all the spoilers out of this review. I haven't used spoilers yet and I'm not starting now, but boy is it hard to not just get right down to business of the story and everything I liked about it. I will just say this: this is a 4 star novel that will fill your cravings for a witty mystery and leave your stomach rumbling for more! You'll be able to practically taste the good from this novel, especially with the recipes thrown in. My only regret with this novel? I didn't read the first 2 culinary mysteries! But, along with book 4, Blackberry Crumble (releasing in 2011), I'll be checking out the rest of Kilpack's fabulous mystery series!
