I first bought this album on an LP issue. It is a fascinating look (listen) at Meredith Monk's early formative years. She was just then perfecting the extended vocal techniques which continue to typify her style. The recording is not the best but the ambience is that of the loft in which it was recorded. This is a must for Monk fans but worth a listen even if you are not a die hard fan.
