Heart's Desire,
This review is from: Key To My Heart (Paperback)
I love a good romance novel. It is even better when more than one of my emotions is heightened. In Key to My Heart, Victoria Wells wrote about characters that were flawed. They made choices and had to live with the error of their ways. Although they regretted some of the decisions they had made, they used it to move into the future they deserved.
Seven years ago, Ava Peretti made a life-altering choice that has hardened her heart in more ways than one. Ava is a loyal friend, sister, and daughter, but the one thing she wanted most she lost in an attempt to please someone else. Ava has regretted every second of it for the past seven years. If she ever wants a chance at complete happiness, Ava has to revisit her past. Langston Warrington III has tried to live life to the fullest for the past seven years. Although he has a wonderful reason to be happy, Langston cannot help but feel as though he is missing a part of his heart. When Ava blasts back into his world to ask him one question, Langston thinks this is his second chance at love. Unfortunately, he has a secret that may possibly take away his second chance before it even begins. How can he be honest with Ava and keep her in his life? I cried and wanted to fight for these characters' happiness. I felt every emotion as though it were my own. Sometimes I wanted to turn away like when I overhear someone else's secret. After reading Key to My Heart, I now want to read Wells' first two novels and anything that she may produce later on. I recommend this book to romance readers and to anyone looking for an author with the gift to touch your emotions. I received this book for review purposes from the author. Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder when.....Love Conquers All,
By
This review is from: Key To My Heart (Paperback)
Victoria Wells takes the meaning of Love in "Key to My Heart" and unlocks the doors of unconditional love and commitment. Ava Peretti and Langston Warrington III met in college and fell in love. It was a love that went deeper than outer appearances, status and money. It was a love they believed at the time would last forever. However, as parental control and old family money and status, seeps into their relationship, they are forced to go their separate ways, but not before making a decision that would ultimately change their lives forever. Key to My Heart will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as it delves into real life issues such as manipulation, control, depression, infidelity, abuse, adoption, betrayal, color biases within the same race, friendships, acceptance and finally saving the best for last....unconditional love that will conquer all. Catching up with Ava's extended family and friends, Summer, Nick, Starr, Kevin and Karen to only name a few and adding new characters in the mix makes this an awesome and exciting page turner! Being the third book in her Love Conquers All Series (A Special Summer, and When Love Comes Around,) this author shows her versatility and heart in being a true romantic! "Key To My Heart" is a must read for those who truly believe and even those who wants to believe that Love can conquer ALL!

Victoria Wells continues her unique style of writing with this third installment of her Love Conquers All Series. Ms. Wells has gifted us with another enjoyable and well written book. Ava and Langston's story is very emotional, full of anger, angst, and anguish. To say that I was surprised by the nature of Ava's secret, would be an understatement. Ms. Wells has done an excellent job of showing the reader how secrets and lies contribute to the baggage that some people carry in their everyday lives. It is baggage that can stunt their growth as individuals and lead to bitterness and cruelty. She also shows us how love can heal a deeply wounded heart. As the drama unfolds, we see that there is more than one victim left in the wake of an evil deed committed by a cruel and heartless person. Thankfully, by the end of the book, it is true love that has brought about forgiveness, redemption, and healing. Well done Victoria Wells!! I highly recommend this book.

I thought I had read a lot of emotive drama before, but this one was so realistic!!! Readers, we have a wonderful author in Ms. V. Wells who writes based on reality, but still keeps our human side. This story came with so many intricate side bars dealing with racial issues, cultural issues, class issues and one of our favorite ones... "color struck" issues. Ava is a strong woman and has a heart much bigger than mine. I thought Summer Stiles was the strong one in this series, but whoooo!!! Wait until you read this!!! I could not put it down. I finished reading this in one sitting.

Eva is Summer and Star's sassy friend from the previous books. Now its Eva turn to reveal her painfully deep secret that she hasn't shared with anyone not even her sister-friends. She has been haunted constantly in her dreams and now she ready to face her past and the baby she begrudgingly gave up for adoption 7 years ago.
During her second year of college she fell in love with and got pregnant by Langston Wallington III. Langston comes from old money and his socialite mother manipulates him into convincing Eva to give their baby up for adoption. Eva has second thoughts about her decision, but its too late and the hospital will not even let her see her baby. Little does she know that in the 9th hour Langston steps up and claims custody of their baby and has been raising her alone. With a new found determination and courage, Eva decides to confront Langston about finding their baby. Imagine her surprise when she discovers she doesn't have to look any further than the man she once love. Beatrice(Langston's mother) is despicable, hateful, vengeful and a self-righteous monster, and that's describing mildly. The way she treated Eva, Zoe and Langston is so indescribably horrible, it truly broke my heart. She was selfish, cold and totally unfeeling, but Eva's family and friends were just the opposite. I enjoyed going on their journey to become a family, with Eva and Langston. They were truly blessed to have so much love and support despite his mother. Although Beatrice has an awakening and tries to prove she has changed, I'm not sure I would allow her to get too close to my child. One of my favorite moments in the book was when Eva's mother Janet met Beatrice. She was very cool, but she definitely got her point across. As always Eva, Summer and Star are ride or die chicks and it is so much fun reading their dialogue. I always feel like the book I have just read by Ms Wells is the best, but the truth is....she is just a great writer and knows how to capture her readers from page one. I can't wait to find out what happens between Nick and Karen......bring it on Ms Wells, you have a fan for life!!!

Can Love Unlock a Broken Heart?,

This review is from: Key To My Heart (Paperback)
Ava Peretti & Langston Warrington III met and fell in love in college. Unfortunately due to outside forces and an unexpected occurence, the couple split apart. Fastforward eight years later and Ava storms back into Langston's life demanding answers to questions that have been plaguing her since the couple broke up. Enter in crazy parents, loyal friends, a witty heroine, an apologetic hero and a sweet chrub and what you have is a story worth purchasing. The connection between the characters was heart warming and showed that friendship can get us through some of the hardest times in our lives and that is exactly what happened here. Also, Ms. Wells reconnects readers with Nick & Summer as well as Kevin & Starr from her previous books. There is so much to be said about this book, but the best way to find out everything there is to know is to purchase it.

If you're read the first reviewer comments she was right on the money. Not much that I can add to her comment but I will say if you have read "A Special Summer" and "When Love Comes Around" you have to read "A Key To My Heart" because for Ava & Langston they was the key to each other heart. College sweetheart who found their way back to each other. There was a lot healing that need to be done on both part for the decision that was made when they was young. I love the fact that with each of Victoria books she gives you story that just flows from page to page. You will also get to re-visit with Summer & Nick, Starr & Kevin and Karen (Starr sister) but I tell what I love so much about Victoria book are the children that are so adorable and they make the stories she tell so real. As always it good to see the sista girls back in action, but in this books we get to see some older woman the mothers of these girls show there strength and toughness. I love those mothers. I for one is hoping that Dominic Jr & Karen end up together can't wait for the next book. This is a must read this is an AWESOME book to read. Smooches Louise

Ava and Langston's story is definitely the best of the series so far. The story was just so heart wrenching in what happened to Ava and her child. You couldn't help but love Langston's character. He really was a doll, and handled their situation perfectly. Langston's mom Beatrice was really the wicked witch of the west. He behavior throughout the book was really deplorable. I'm happy she redeemed herself in the end. The love scenes in this book were really good. One of my complaints about the previous book was the love scenes could have been better, so I am glad the author steamed them up this time around. Definitely a must read.
