Born in a stifling hot garage in 2001, Venus Trap has progressed into one of the most compelling bands currently gracing Louisville, KY s storied stages. Venus Trap combines elements of 70 s punk, psychedelic pop, a dash of twang while topping it off with haunting, almost otherworldy vocals. They have slowly built their reputation through heartfelt performances and dynamic songwriting. The band s formative years were spent ironing out their lineup, self-recording and releasing an EP entitled soul candy and cigarettes , and testing the waters locally. The Key was recorded with engineer Kevin Ratterman.
