5.0 out of 5 stars Key Witch is Wonderful!, April 3, 2006
This review is from: Key Witch (Paperback)
It's another adventure in the Keys as three odd sisters look for a missing fourth. In Robert Tacoma's third book in the series he shows himself to be a developing author with a unique style that is immediately loveable and easy to read. Key Witch further explores the oddities that give Key West the nick name Key Weird. With new characters you are sure to fall in love with and some old characters that you love already if you read his first two books, Robert Tacoma creates a world of paranormal comedy and outright hilarious fun. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has read any of the Key books. For those who have not discovered this talented new weaver of tales, you can start with this one but you might enjoy it even more by starting at the beginning.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE Taco Bob, April 20, 2008
This review is from: Key Witch (Paperback)
Since I'm up to date on all Tim Dorsey & Carl Hiassen, I decided to give Robert Tacoma a try. I'm so glad I did! I'm a big fan of Florida fiction - and these books really deliver. So funny! Can't wait for the next book.

Rock on Taco Bob!

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly entertaining considering amateurish style., December 6, 2007

An entertaining read, especially if you love Florida fiction. It really helps to not take silly, supernatural sequences seriously and just enjoy the tale.

In this book the author brings a little California weirdness into the Florida craziness. I love all of these books. Robert Tacoma has true gift for creating great characters and telling funny stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun reading!, September 16, 2011

I like these light adventures - no message, no gore. Robert Tacoma knows his South Florida fiction, so you will find references to Hiassen's ex Gov. Skink or maybe a description of Doc Ford's hangout. These novels are not as dark as Randy Wayne White's work, nor as wild and crazy as that of Tim Dorsey, but they are in that league. Personally, I prefer the Key ones to those set in South Texas. Here is my attempt to list them chronologically, which is probably the best order to read the Key ones.

Robert Tacoma (various protagonists)
Key Weird. 2005. 4.0
Key Weirder 2005 4.3
Color Me Weird 2007 4.3 no, it really is a coloring book, with a story
Key Witch 2008 4.3
Key Lucky 2008 4.0
Possum Surprise 2009 3.3 S Texas small town, duller. Early MS dusted off?
Key Manatee 2010 4.0
Sheriff Skunk 2010 5.0 S Texas small town
Key Dali 2011 4.0 1st person Dali, Key West street artist, w usual cast

5.0 out of 5 stars Wild and Wacky...just the way I love 'em!!!, June 10, 2010

This is the first book I have read by Robert Tacoma....and after I finished laughing my butt off...I felt I had to make sure other readers knew what a fun time reading Key Witch is. Offbeat, zany characters abound along with a bit of a mystery and flat out laughter that will have you spending some of the best reading hours around. The wacky sisters, Lydia, Consuelo and Josephine, defy description except to say that they eeriely reminded me of my granny and a certain Monopoly game that was called due to cheating when I was twelve. Anyway, I digress....get this book...I am in process of buying up Mr Tacoma's other books that showcase a wily and suave character named Taco Bob and so many other interesting characters in Key West that I expect to be holed up most of July reading. Highly recommended with a grin on my face and a lift in my heart.
