This review is from: KeyCarbon KCU401 Keystroke Recorders for USB Keyboards (Electronics)
I ordered from Amazon and the KeyCarbon arrived next day. The product itself looks like a slightly larger USB thumb drive, except it has a USB socket on the other end to the USB plug. It's so easy to install - you just unplug the USB keyboard and plug the KeyCarbon in-between the keyboard and computer. It is fairly large and when you plug it into the back of the computer, it does cause the keyboard cable to stick out a few inches. This isn't necessarily conspicuous though as you can hide it among the other cables behind the computer. If a computer is on a desk though, someone might notice (if you want to use the device, for instance, for monitoring your child's internet activity).

I plugged it in before booting the computer - and it started recording keyboard activity right away. This is really important for me, as I am writing my PhD thesis and want something to keep a secondary record in case there's a power cut or something like that (I also take lots of backups of the Word file too).

To access the memory you can either use their software (for Windows) or you can just use their clever access system - you just open any text editor such as Word and type the password. This immediately causes the device to present a menu (imagine it 'typing' the menu out for you) - you can then select various options, including viewing the memory and clearing the memory.
