This review is from: KeySpan AV Dock for iPod with Remote White (Electronics)
This dock works beautifully for transferring video from my 5G iPod to the TV. I was amazed at the picture quality. (32" non-HD TV) This item is going to be a permanent part of my home entertainment set-up. Also works great for playing iPod tunes through your stereo. This unit's remote is without a doubt the best remote paired with any iPod dock. Some items to keep in mind: *You must control the volume with the remote, not your iPod. *You cannot access menus on the TV screen. :-( *S-video cable is not included. *Check your TV before you buy. S-video to RCA converters are available but, why? *If you have an S-video jack on your VCR, it is probably video "out" and not video "in". Check!

The Remote is the Deciding Factor,

I think this iPod dock is overlooked and undervalued. The video is crisp and the hookup is straightforward. Hands down, though, the best thing about this is the remote.Like other decent iPod docks, this remote is RF. This is significant because you don't need direct line-of-sight to control it. The RF isn't even the best feature. The remote has standard previous/next/pause, but additionally it has buttons to toggle random, toggle repeat mode (single song, playlist/album, off), switch playlists, albums, and book chapters. All this control without need for the device's UI. Working in the next room, or even upstairs, you can switch song, album, playlist or chapter. What good is a remote if you don't have complete control remotely?

Easy stereo connection for the ipod with a surprisingly capable remote,

I was almost settled on the Belkin equivalent device before I stumbled across this one. The main advantage seems to be the remote control, which is far more capable than those found on other ipod docks. The ability to change playlists is significant in my book, and gives this dock the edge. Even cooler is that you can get a learning RF remote control to learn these functions. This is a pretty simple thing to evaluate. You put your ipod in, and now it can connect to your AV reciever. Mission accomplished! The big plus is the remote, but the cons are: The choice of S-Video (as opposed to composite) seems a little strange. In my case, it doesn't matter, since I have an s-video input on my TV (but not on the A/V reciever it connects to...). I think that most would prefer a composite cable. Additionally, the volume that the dock transmits to the stereo seems lower than any other device I connect (cable box, cd player). Not a big problem, the sound's clear, so I turn up the volume. Since the dock is powered, a little amplification may not have been a bad thing here. About the only way you could make these kinds of docks better is with a digital output for an A/V receiver.
