This mat is very tough. We've had it under a massive Smooth Fitness 5.15P treadmill on our parkay floor for several months now and it's not showing any hint of wear. I was skeptical when my wife bought it. I wasn't sure we really needed a treadmill mat. It sounded a little hokey to me. But when the treadmill arrived our house, it took all of 10 minutes before it put the first scuff in our floor as were setting it up. I'd say a treadmill mat is essential if you're going to use your treadmill on anything other than carpet. And even then, you may want one to minimize carpet scars.

I'm very happy with this mat. It's the first one I've ever owned, and hopefully it'll be the last. If you need one, I don't think you can go wrong with this product.

My treadmill arrived before my treadmill mat. The mat took away the worry of scratching my hardwood floor. The mat grips the floor very well and provides good cushioning for the treadmill. I notice minor noise reduction after I added the mat.
