Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Buy The Book!
• Tell your friends that you’ve just bought the most incredible book written by your best friend (I’ll back you up).
• Buy one for your boss – tell her you think she’s a "Phillip" (it’s a good thing). She’ll be flattered and there’s a raise in your future.
• Put one in each bathroom in your house they’re decorative and more interesting than the toothpaste tube.
• Send one anonymously to the "diversity is crap" whiner in shipping, finance, intake, customer service or wherever he/she is.
• Give one to your stylist – they (and you) will appreciate a topic other than their lagging sex life.
• Take one on vacation, pretend to read it and it will keep the passenger sitting next to you from droning on
• Buy one for Oprah and Dr. Phil – tell them they’re in the book and you’d like to autograph their copy.
• Buy one, copy to cover picture into Photoshop, put your face on my body (works best if you're Black and look good in a skirt, but don’t sweat it) and send it to your parents to show that you’ve done something special.
• Buy 6 copies and invite five strangers to start a book club.
Seriously, buy a copy and learn something new (don’t believe me, well smarty pants, how long is the Great Wall of China [see pg. 118]). Thanks.

From the Inside Flap

Diversity is not an option; it is a necessity! To survive and prosper in the twenty-first century, it's imperative that business leaders find ways to surface and implement great ideas from all corners of the organization and the world. Laced with academic references, and anecdotes from the author’s thirty-year personal journey through every continent 7Keys 2Success: Unlocking The Passion For Diversity provides a unique and powerful, imaginative and unquestionably pragmatic strategy to achieve diversity and inclusion.

Tools for managers,

"Substitution - exchange a situation or characteristic that I can comfortably and knowledgably work with for one I am less comfortable with. - Six Negative Road Signs – Recognize them and you’ll avoid the dead-end streets. - The Big Five – What you must know if you decide to design and deliver a great diversity course.
This is the guide for those who want to take diversity and inclusion initiatives from good to exceptional, from struggling to succeeding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read!, November 17, 2006

This review is from: 7 Keys 2 Success: Unlocking The Passion for Diversity (Hardcover)
Unlike most books on organizational development, enhancement of communication, and the like, this one shares wisdom without pomp and nitty-gritty advice without the "one truth" mentality. The author's enthusiasm for her topic and her experience with the realities of the work illuminate this eminently readable work from beginning to end. A winner.
