Simply put, it just works. If you do Powerpoint or Keynote presos, buy one, you will not be sorry.

3.0 out of 5 stars Presentation Remote
While this does do what it's supposed to do, it certainly has limitations. If I had realized that it was only good when doing a presentation (e.g. PowerPoint), but didn't work to navigate any other functions of the computer, I would have paid a little more for the KeySpan PR-US2, which allows you to pretty much run everything on the computer.

The best...

Simply put, it just works. If you do Powerpoint or Keynote presos, buy one, you will not be sorry.

Price is excellent. Much simpler to use than the other Keyspan remotes I own. It has very clear forward and back arrow keys. The laser pointer does not require remembering key sequences to invoke, just push the button and it's on, let go and it's off. The addition of volume control (including mute) is nice.

Once exceptional feature is a physical on/off slide switch on the back side. This prevents battery drain from keys being pushed when it is in my backpack.

I have swapped it between Mac OSX and Windows computers with no major issues (plug and play). Only annoyance, sometimes Mac OSX thinks it is a wireless keyboard/mouse and launches a setup utility. I just quit the utility and all is well.

I like this product, I had some reservations about getting since it was not terribly expensive and I was not terribly impressed with the company selling the product.

i am thrilled I overcame those issues and got it. It is a good product and so far has done all that I asked of it. No complaints here.

I use Easy Presenter with Apple Keynote several times a week for my college lectures. It's easy to set up and just as easy to use. An on-off button helps preserve battery life.

This is the first wireless remote control that has worked as a "wireless" remote control from any distance. Out of all the IR and Wireless devices that I have tried this is definitely the best.

I began giving Keynote presentations in the classes I teach this year and needed some kind of remote to walk around the room with. This remote fit the bill perfectly. I still have not been able to get the F5 start key to work, but once a slideshow is going, this responsive little guy works exactly as directed.

While this does do what it's supposed to do, it certainly has limitations. The best feature on the Easy Presenter is the buttons. As the name implies, they make running a presentation very easy, and even includes a "blackout" button to (useful to turn off the display during Q&A times).

My remote had gotten out of sync, and it took me a while to realize that the RF control device that plugs into the USB port has a re-set button on it. At first I kept wondering why "both lights" didn't light up, until I realized that the other "light" was a re-sync button.

Bottom line - it's okay, but I much prefer using the PR-US2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Remote -- 60-ft is about its limit, as advertised, November 12, 2010

I rent projectors and audio-visual equipment for presenters to use during PPT presentations. I have never had a problem with this remote. It works great as a remote, and the red laser light has been powerful enough to keep people happy.

I have had this item for about four years now, and it's still going strong on the original battery. It has an on/off switch on the back, which is great for preserving the batteries. It comes with a pouch for storage, but when I put it in my carry bag, I'm sure the buttons get pushed while stored, as my carry bag is stuffed, so the switch has been very handy for battery life. I'm buying a new battery for the first time now, just because I don't want to chance it after four years.

Most of the time, my presenters are in a small room, so its use has been mostly in close quarters, where the range was not a problem. I did use it recently in a much larger venue, where the speaker was on a stage and used this remote from a distance of probably a little more than 60 feet from the computer. Although it worked when I tested it before the presentation, I was still a little worried about the distance, since the description states that it has a 60-ft range. However, the presenter had only a couple of slight problems for his whole presentation. Once or twice, the slide wouldn't forward for him on the first push of the button. He moved his hand and tried again, and it worked fine. But again, that was pushing the product's stated distance limit.

If your anticipated range is within 60 feet, then I would highly recommend this remote.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Unobtrusive Or Comfortable For Me, May 1, 2010
By

This review is from: Keyspan by Tripp Lite PR-EZ1 Easy Presenter Presentation Remote Wireless w Laser (Electronics)
I bought this to see how it compared with the other remote presenters I use (Honeywell's VERY small presenter, which I really like, but have had problems with it not working consistently, Targus AMP03US, Targus with a mouse feature, Kensington 33374, my favorite because I like the USB connection that fits right into the device when you're done, and Logi-Tech, which has a timer and buzzer to remind you it's break time.) This Keyspan is fine for it's effectiveness overall and has some features others don't have--reviewed on this page already. It's flat so it would fit in a shirt or suit pocket

*It measures about 3" long and 1 3/4" wide, with the grip part being only a bit less at 1 1/2" wide. It's metal with a ridge that goes around the edges. So, for someone with a small hand or a small palm, it's essentially like holding a small metal throat lozenge container.

*Because it's metal and flat, it slides easily and can be pushed aside and off the table or podium when moving learning material around.

*It's white on the button side and grey on the back side, which looks different than usual and training participants have all mentioned it to me--which says something about how obvious it is when you're holding it.

*It has no grip area and is not rounded, so instead of holding it between thumb and forefinger as you can with other small presenters, this one has to be held (by me, anyway) with the whole hand. The photo on this site that shows a woman holding it, shows that it is more of a visible device than an unobtrusive aid. See how she has it in the palm of her hand with the hand up?

I loaned it to three other trainers--two women and a man--and they all said the same things, especially when comparing them immediately with a more comfortable and less noticeable remote.

I think this would be better for someone who is showing a few slides as part of a company presentation, so everyone is focused on the slides. For my use, several hours a day, daily, there are some drawbacks that keep it from being the best choice.

Tried a couple other devices, but this one was the only one that worked with my Mac on Keynote as advertised. The device is compact, comes with a carrying case and is very simple to use. Just plug and play. The remote itself is a bit chinzy; the on/off switch is a bit balky and the whole thing doesn't feel particularly solid in your hand. The built in laser pointer is nice albiet not the brightest thing in the world. My remote worked easily from 50 feet away. If you plan to use a remote frequently, consider a more durable (and expensive) remote, but for occasional use, this one will fit the bill nicely!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tiny gem, March 17, 2006
This review is from: Keyspan by Tripp Lite PR-EZ1 Easy Presenter Presentation Remote Wireless w Laser (Electronics)
I have used a wide variety of remote presentation devices over the past decade. This is the smallest, most user friendly. While it isn't a remote mouse, it does a fantastic job at the task of controlling a PowerPoint presentation.
