initial testing successful, it works well, photos and video are not disturbed by the plastic of the case. the lanyard is good, it'll keep you from having to dive to the bottom after your iphone. the case fit is snug for iphone 4. I did buy the recommended silicone grease/ plumbers grease to assist in the seal and as I was not about to test the phone w/o taking every precaution I did not test without the silicone grease. ainokea, no like chance em'. case size is a little longer than my otterbox defender, thickness apx. same. ok, that'd be all the good, now for the bad, er eh not so good. The touchscreen seal is super grippy silicone, good for waterproofing, bad for seeing wth is being captured onscreen, its fine in your livingroom, but once in the sun, the glare is tremendous, so you'd be wise to set the brightness to max before going into the sun. and aint access to the sleep standby button, so preset the autolock to engage at 1-3 minutes to save some battery. sound is fine, on video playback while the eco was underwater we could even still make out what the conversation was above the surface. and a soundtest of both the subject and the eco being underwater was successful, but only because I knew the phrase that was being spoken was I able to decode it during playback. eh, its not for making calls while scuba diving, sorry, can text your mom if you like though. that is one thing that was very good, the screen was 75% visibility if both the camera operator and the eco were underwater, reduction in the suns glare was terrific. It also was taking very good shots/video underwater and above, except above the screen was/ is so dificult to view with sun glare that we were constantly taking blurry photos b/c we were forgeting to re-focus by touching the screen, learning curve and thats okay. I'll post a pic and a vid taken while using the eco marine. I will try get to the saltwater test soon and update. previous test was successful in an 8 foot pool. I had zero water intrusion, even though I thought I mighta one time I saw plenty bubbles escaping, but it was the pressure, the air pressure in the case increased when I went to the 8 foot level and caused the little pockets of trapped air around the edge of the seal to evacuate, scaring me a little, but just a little. oh, can I say that I've already sent my phone to Liquipel? maybe I should disclose that my phone will continue to work underwater without the eco marine, b/c its been liquipeled. eh, also though liquipel does not recommend doing this on purpose, its moa of a security/ safety backup. If you wanna have either both the liquipel and the eco marine it'll set you back about the same dinero as a lifecase. lifecase wants 25 bucks for the belt clip accessory, so thats the straw in my situation. Lifecase seems like a good alternative to what I decided but every little addon adds up. it does have a IP68 rating though as the eco marine has a IP58, but the 5/6 difference is for dropping a boulder on it or something, and th 8/8 compares the same and thats the one for extended use at depth in water, but lifecase does say max depth is at 2m/6.6 ft and the eco marine says 20ft. thats a significant difference, I think.
