Book Description

6 and up1 and upDiscover America State By State. Alphabet Series
Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water, Gettysburg, Ben Franklin's inventions, the Liberty Bell- there is so much to learn about Pennsylvania's history and geography. "K is for Keystone" is a wonderful introduction to many of Pennsylvania's unique features for readers young and old.

"The word Crayola comes from the French word craie (chalk) and the first part of the word oleaginous (an oily paraffin wax). In 1903 cousins Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith created an overnight success with their Crayola crayons made for school use. Seventy-five years later Crayola markers were produced. The Crayloa Factory in Easton, Pennsylvania, includes a hands-on discovery center and offers demonstrations that show how crayons and markers are made."

5.0 out of 5 stars State Books, October 29, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: K Is for Keystonel: A Pennsylvania Alphabet (Discover America State By State. Alphabet Series) (Hardcover)
These Alphabet books are a great way to teach kids a little something about where their parents or grandparents grew up. I plan on looking into some other states just for the history lesson for a child that is a bit more on their level.

5.0 out of 5 stars State information, August 25, 2008
This review is from: K Is for Keystonel: A Pennsylvania Alphabet (Discover America State By State. Alphabet Series) (Hardcover)
I bought the book about Pennsylvania for the grandchildren they enjoyed looking at the pictures, and as they get older the information will be helpful in teaching them about their state.
