Really liked Khushi,

I must be the opposite type person from the other earlier reviewer, because each of her negative points I found to be enjoyable (especially the MUSIC was outstanding, best I have heard throughout a movie, the dance scenes were fun to watch). KHUSHI is close to my favorite Bollywood movie.
It is more contemporary in nature/style (the dancing skits & music are great but NOT 'traditional'). Very touching in many places, well done acting and I really liked both the main characters. The story seemed unique because it wasn't a triangle or quad relationship story (with some outside tragedy to intensify the story), just focused on the 2 main characters really. Very nice, charming concept! Highly recommended for an easy/relaxing enjoyable watching experience (only one fight scene with guys, pretty well done, and interesting fight ending). SPOILER - The middle of the movie does have bickering/fighting between the 2 main characters But it has a Happy Ending to the movie. Enjoy!

Bland and flat,
By Lyn Taryn "Lyn Taryn" (Melbourne Australia) - See all my reviews

There were several of us watching this but the response was unanimous. It was dull and some scenes really overly long.
Kareena Kapoor was overacting in a stereotyped way- doing 'perky' in a forced way (perhaps this was earlier than when she settled into her natural bubbly self as it seemed a little self-consciously forced here). Her destined love lacked screen presence and was rather bland. He looked a nice enough guy and tried hard. His dancing wasnt bad but he generally was lacking zip. He did better in later movies. The setting is mostly around a university life and about young love. The dances werent bad and some effort was gone to to make them a bit different but the songs were unmemorable. There was an unnecessary comic subtheme about a lecherous 'Master' who writes songs but keeps plagiarising others music. I dont know why they bothered as this added nothing but mild annoyance. They also threw in another couple who couldnt get the girl's father's approval. The father was a local thug and there was one scene of a beating by his lackies. Again I dont really know why they needed to go there except that they needed some variation and spice as the main movie was lacking that. I dont mind cliche and well trodden themes in Bollywoods (life is full of repetitive cliches too!) but this was a one-note theme of 2 people destined to love who are proud and bicker all the time. Ho hum! I also dont know why bickering is so romanticised in these movies. I do relationship counselling and I know this is a sign of problems and undermines love, not reflects it!
