To listen to Ilham play, is a joy that elevates me to different levels of being, I have seen him live many times and to finally get his songs on CD is truly amazing, this is a CD that carries Middle Eastern traditional song alongside Western Jazz into a new kind of musical pleasure.

i was sitting in Mr Ilham Al Madfai's concert last week in London,i went there after reading an article about him in the independent newspaper,he played most of this CD songs ,it was out of this world,i am not an Arab but i started searching for arabic music after listening to this album.
i havent really enjoyed my self in a concert since 1964 in a conert for the Beatles in London.....

A great composition of LIVELY rhythmes and "feel-happy" tunes! I enjoyed listening to it very much even without understanding the lyrics. The guitar and the soothing voice combine to give the soul a tingle of happiness. Suitable for anytime, anywhere, and anyone that enjoys a GOOD rhythm. Joetty thanks for getting me this for a gift!

Expand your boundaries of music you like by picking this up. Even at the import price, it's well worth it.

This is really beautiful music. At times, it's sort of folky, sort of gipsy, sort of jazzy, sort of world-y. It's great to see all these genres come together.

Ilham's voice is very rich. The Arabic language is very pleasant on the ears for those of us who only speak English.

I can't wait to get some more of his work. Do your collection a favor and pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.

i never loved arabic music,till i listened to Ilham Al Madfai,he is out of this world his music is world wide standard mixing western & eastern tunes to make a combination of mood.
i loved his new album Baghdad it is also great,wish that most arabic artists listen and produce same quality as the legend Ilham al Madfai does..

My friend Saad recommended this album to me, and I have come to highly enjoy Ilham's music. This album I think is his best. If you like Middle Eastern music, Ilham is an excillent place to start.

I am very happy to hear Ilham play Iraqi folk music on CD. The tracks blend a rich set of instruments, making Ilham hold his own as an international artist. I had seen him play and am glad to be able to listen to his music. Ilham was sent by his family to England to study architecture. They were rather dissapointed when he came back a musician. I am glad to see a record label honoring Ilham as an artist who has more than paid his dues. Thank you Ilham for such wonderful music and for believing in your gift of music!

This CD is excellent. Great to listen to while walking/driving. It's uplifting, it's contemporary and it's fun to listen to. It's modern for middle eastern music.
