The stylish, compact DP-1000 from KiSS offers unprecedented format compatibility with Internet-sourced audio and video files, spinning DVD-Video, DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, JPEG image CD, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis CD, in addition to reading DVDs encoded with MPEG-4 the latest XviD and DivX formats. MP3 features include full file name display using the onscreen menu and ID3 tag details for the currently playing track (when encoded). Ogg Vorbis is an open-source version of MP3, and DivX files have the potential to look and sound much like what you see and hear from your DVDs.

And, whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DP-1000 stands ready to deliver the full potential of your commercial DVD-Videos. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

The player uses the French-developed SCART connection for its high-res progressive-scan component-video signal, and a supplied cable provides an interface for use with the standard RCA-tipped jacks on associated equipment. The SCART output allows the player to channel video signals in a manner consonant with RGB computer monitors (RGB adapter cable not included).

Other outputs include standard composite- and S-video connections and one each coaxial and optical digital-audio jacks for passing Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround signals to a compatible audio/video receiver.

The player's "Four Step Quick Setup" walks you through your selection of language, video connection type, screen dimension, and audio connection. It offers upgradeable firmware, too, so you can keep the player up-to-date through updates from the KiSS Web site.

Most of the time it wont turn on or when it does turn on the film u are playin either stops/crashes after an amount of time or the player turns its self off.
This piece has a horrible sound in DivX, MP3 and CD audio.
