4.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack, though not "complete"
If you're reading this, then you've likely seen the movie and you know why you're gonna get this soundtrack. It's a great compilation, you will be happy. So let me cover the two relatively minor reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5:

1) It's missing a few of the memorable songs from the movie. As noted by another commenter, this includes "Crazy" by Gnarls...

3.0 out of 5 stars Incomplete, as others have stated
When I look for a soundtrack, I'm really looking for a complete soundtrack. This just didn't fit that criteria. The movie gets high marks, but not so much the soundtrack, because it is missing so much of the great music. A portion of the song Kryptonite was used in the movie, and not credited, and as others have mentioned, the Adiago track is the best! Has the...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack, though not "complete", May 4, 2010

If you're reading this, then you've likely seen the movie and you know why you're gonna get this soundtrack. It's a great compilation, you will be happy. So let me cover the two relatively minor reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5:

1) It's missing a few of the memorable songs from the movie. As noted by another commenter, this includes "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley. Two others were John Murphy's original music from Big Daddy's warehouse scene and the later "live streaming" warehouse scene. These songs were variations of "In The House - In A Heartbeat" and "Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor)", which can respectively be found on the 28 Days Later soundtrack and the Sunshine soundtrack (currently only on iTunes).

2) Also noted by another commenter, some tracks include excerpts from the movie before the song begins. I actually like this a lot, as it helps give movie context to the song, which definitely enhances the soundtrack for me. Not everyone might agree, though. These clips could have been included as separate "in-between" tracks (like on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack), instead of as track intros, and everyone would be happy.

I love the soundtrack to this movie but it doesn't include the tune that Kick-ass and Red Mist were listening to in the Mistmobile. I found out that the song is "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun soundtrack!, May 2, 2010

Very fun and upbeat song selection! Quite awesome, even though there are some songs that didn't really catch my interest as much as the other. I only have to complaints about it:

1. The movie clips that play in the beginning of some songs

2. I prefer Joan Jett's version of Bad Reputation

Otherwise, if you loved the movie, definitely get this.

A portion of the song Kryptonite was used in the movie, and not credited, and as others have mentioned, the Adiago track is the best! Has the industry gotten the horribly wrong impression that we don't care about getting all the music and having it accurately credited?

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome music for awesome movie!, August 26, 2010
This review is from: Kick-Ass: Music From The Motion Picture [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
If you love the movie, the music is a must! Some of these tunes are so memorable. Although not all songs are on this album, you can find the rest. I am trying to locate the song and get name for the song taht is playing when they are coming out of the movie theatre. It sounds like it is Kick ass in the lyrics. Anyone know?

4.0 out of 5 stars As Kick Ass as the Movie..., April 26, 2010

Leaving the theater after seeing Kick Ass, me and my friend both IMMEDIATELY wanted the soundtrack. I found it on Amazon relatively easily, and opted for just downloading the mp3s. And I have to say, it is just as kick-ass as the actual movie. Some of the songs feature short speaking clips of the movie so it really immerses you with the same feel of the film. Loud, action packed, and makes you want to just get up and dance around the room. I especially love the Hit Girl song, Banana Splits by the Dickies!!

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent soundtrack for an excellent film, April 22, 2010
This review is from: Kick-Ass: Music From The Motion Picture [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
The film has been referenced as a Tarantino style film. The same can be said for the soundtrack in that it works fantastically with the film. The soundtrack makes the film even more special and makes the scenes in which they are played even more unforgettable. The movie was excellent. The soundtrack is excellent. Check both of them out. My personal favorites are starry eyed, stand up, kick ass, there's a pot a brewin, banana splits, and omen.

3.0 out of 5 stars Half-baked, August 8, 2010
By
Rob Gordon (Lakewood, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kick-Ass: Music From The Motion Picture [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
A quick scan of Youtube reveals nearly forty individual tracks for Kick-Ass. This album has fourteen. So where did the other twentyish go? Because this is the case with many other motion picture soundtrack albums, I'm giving it an average score. You'd think in this day and age of cheap, mass data storage that they'd be able to do a better job compiling a track library for the commercial product, but no. I would much rather hold out for the real thing or just watch the movie again than subscribe to this lazy tripe. But if this is all they have to offer now, then the best I'll be able to do is buy this and download the rest, as much as it must pain the industry.

I make no apologies for not addressing the music itself, but rest assured that it was one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in an action flick.

Is done by MIKA!!! Great song. They don't have his name listed above on track 2 which is bad. [...] gives the Kick Ass movie great reviews!
