5.0 out of 5 stars This is where to learn the basics., December 11, 2000

This is a great book for learning the fundamentals of kickboxing. Written in a clean and concise style, it covers the work-a-day world of becoming a kickboxer. Leaving out the 'grandmaster' stuff usually found in martial arts books, Kickboxing Basics focuses on the meat: how to get in shape; how to throw a punch/kick; how to move around the ring; and how to win a fight. As a 'basics' book, it doesn't go into a lot of detail, but does give firm pointers to the paths the reader should explore. A great read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kickboxing made simple!, December 21, 2000
This review is from: Kick Boxing Basics (Paperback)
This book is great! It shows you the general basics of the steps. It shows you motion by motion how you should move your feet and arms. Also there is a section about exercise and training. It explains everything really well. I think I was looking for a more "Tae-Bo" kind of work out. You have to put your own steps to music with this book, which is fine. It is fun and if you are interested in Kick Boxing I would say go for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great place to start learning the basics..., August 28, 2002

Easy to read with only 80 pages and medium text. The pages are full of information from physical training, correct ways to perform a jab, upper cut, right cross, and various kicks. How to work the ring and hold your own against an opponent. Trivia on different leagues, a weight class table, and suprisingly a page on hand wraps and types of gloves and equipment. I read it in one sitting. A real guide book for beginners.
