INXS 'Kick - Deluxe Edition' not only adds another valuable addition to Universal's highly successful and popular Deluxe Edition range but is a must-have for INXS's loyal fanbase and an excellent reminder of the quality and relevance of this album almost 20 years on from it's original release. The deluxe package features a lavish 28 page colour booklet with liner notes by journalist and band friend Johnny 'Cigarettes' Sharp. The notes take the form of an intriguing interview with band member and key songwriter Andrew Farris, alongside producer Chris Thomas, giving a fascinating insight into how the album which brought the band to the global music audience's attention came into being. The booklet also includes rare and unseen photos and memorabilia supplied by the band themselves plus full lyrics to all the songs. Disc 1 features a fully remastered version of the original album, while CD2 includes a number of previously unreleased tracks recorded in the Kick sessions, plus demos, rare remixes and 3 live tracks recorded during the Calling All Nations tour at San Diego in 1988. The bonus disc material has been hand-picked by the band and the deluxe edition will be fully supported and promoted by band world-wide. This is considered INXS's benchmark album. Almost everyone who's made it has at least one. This needs little introduction. We all grew up with it. Now, it's better than ever, with more material. I used to have the EU original, but I sold it. This edition was only released outside the US and Canada (though the reissue we've got sufficed). The B-sides have few or no lyrics, as do most of them from this and "X", as they are improvisations or padded remixes. "Different World" and the video version of "Never Tear Us Apart" could have fit here. Deluxe Edition is a series of reissues of classic albums in the Universal catalogue (Warner for North America). This belongs up there with them.

Kick is a solid album by one of the world's greatest bands. I owned the original album back when it was first released, but wanted the deluxe edition for the dance mixes and previously unreleased tracks. This album was well worth the price. I absolutely love it! This is a great album for long-time fans as well as those with a new interest in this important band. Absolutely spectacular.
