Way too little drumming and way too much talking. I'd say there is about a 3:1 ratio of talking to drumming. I am not exaggerating by much, if at all! I've never heard of any of the drummers and the video doesn't give any sort of bio for example, something like:

"Nisan Stewart, who has played with so and so and performed on such and such a record." Maybe hardcore heads know who these guys are, but certainly not the average public.

These guys just start talking and explaining their gospel roots and talking about their lives, but why do we care? We don't know who they are or what they have done. about 10 minutes into the video, you actually see some drumming. They even interview one drummer's high school band teacher! who cares?? The video tells you all about which neighborhoods they grew up in or what church they attended, but nothing about who they played with or records you can hear them on.

Another drummer and his organ-playing uncle have this bewildering 5-minute sequence of just organ and drums (just kick and snare and hat, no toms or cymbals). I grew up in the Pentecostal Church and understand "shouting" music, but the average consumer won't get it. it's really repetitive and out of place. Don't buy or even check this out from the library.

As the other reviewer noted, there is almost nothing about RnB or hip hop, just Gospel.

what's a shame is that it could have been an amazing video. There is a lot of really slick editing and great shooting locations/lighting, etc. But just too little content. Do not watch!

These guys are superstars!!! If you play the set, and u want to get better, let this DVD motivate you......and if what you hear and see doesn't motivate you, then u just don't want to play....period.

Kick Snare Hat - four well regarded drummers - should be hot - but it is not - too many interviews not enough drumming. There are a few nice secquences where each player does a Kick Snare Hat solo which I really like BUT they are not marked on the DVD menu and are difficult to find. On the end of the disc is an extended 4 drummer jam - but I didn't find this very musical and the overall effect was too cluttred. This DVD should be edited down to about 30 minutes - none of the interview are interesting, they just talk about how awesome they think each other are and how gospel, NOT HIP HOP, as been on their life
