Rare example of a nearly-lost art,

Okay, I'm a bit prejudiced because 1. I play the harmonica myself and 2. Peg leg is also from my hometown of Spartanburg, SC and we knew some of the same people. That said, this album is interesting because it mostly features some raw, solo harmonica playing that, while recorded around 1970-72, harks back to the earliest forms of African-American entertainment. The "Fox chase," that appears here was once the staple of all pre-blues harmonicists. Peg Leg is somewhat of a legend in Spartanburg and there are stories about him playing the harmonica with his nose and playing 2 harps in his mouth at once (both of which he allegedly does on this CD). I would stronly recommend this for aspiring harmonicists to practice from and for people who are musical historians.
