Book Description

July 25, 1997
"

An effective kicking game is often the difference between winning and losing. Kicking the Football shows you how to teach your players to improve their punting, kicking, and placekicking. Former NFL punter and veteran kicking instructor Bill Renner reveals the best techniques, tactics, and practice drills to kick like a pro.

Many books on kicking have shown the ""what"" of these skills. But Kicking the Football goes in depth to explain the ""why"" of each technique. You'll learn how these proven methods comprise the overall skill of kicking. Twenty-two sequential drills—13 for punting and 9 for kicking—demonstrate each specific technique. Plus, 23 illustrations and 65 photos help you boot the guesswork out of instruction.

Contests are often won or lost with the kicking game. Give your players the edge they need by using this can't-miss book. Kicking the Football splits the uprights every time!

5.0 out of 5 stars The most comprehensive book on kicking I've found!, August 14, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Kicking the Football (Paperback)
Bill Renner does the best job of teaching and actually explaining what happens when you kick a football. He not only illustrates what needs to be done to kick it successfully, but explains WHY each facet is necessary. There are great "quick" trouble-shooting guides to help you fix mistakes, and many skill-specific drills to progressively develop a great kicker. As a Special Teams coach, I threw out all my other books on kicking . . . Bill Renner's book is complete and needs no suppliment!
