Every parent needs to read this book! My wife and I have a two-year-old and have learned so much about how to raise our son on solid principles that work. And at the same time keep our marriage a priority in the home. Ed Young's words are right on the mark: children have taken over the home and parents have let them. Giving kids everything they want is not giving them the best in life. Among his practical advice is a challenge for every parent to have a regular date night with their spouse and to keep a set bedtime for their kids. If parents just did those two things, it would revolutionize families today.

Loved the pratical advice on how to raise children in a selfish world. The author comes to fresh conclusions that most child rearing books give. I plan on trying a few of the recommendations.

I have gone back & reread this several times and I always find something helpful in raising my daughter. It's made me a better parent.
This is for all moms and dads who are challenged daily in the role of a parent.
