A Humorous Genre Parody & A Blast to Play!,

- About The Kid -
Following in the footsteps of "Parodius", Konami makes us smile again with a game that's as well-designed as it is funny! In Kid Dracula for Game Boy you play as the pint-sized son of Castlevania's main antagonist. The evil dinosaur-ish Garamoth has returned and challenged you to a duel. The only problem is you've forgotten most of your magic spells during your slumber! As you play, you'll regain your memories & spells until you're back to your ol' self again and ready to take on big G.. Kid Dracula largely parodies Konami's own Castlevania series, but they managed to sneak several others in there as well. See if you can spot the references to "Friday the 13th", "Mega Man" and Konami's "Gradius" and "Stinger" games. - The Game Play - There are 8 levels in all and, despite being somewhat short, they're nicely varied and more challenging than I'd expected. Even still, this is much easier than the Castlevania series and with just a little patience you will prevail. The graphics & sound are top notch for an original Game Boy title, and the great level design keeps things both interesting and fresh all the way to the end. Controls are only slightly weak as the kid moves smoothly, but a bit slow. You'll get used to it before long though. - Conclusion - There's no denying it, Kid Dracula is great fun! It feels like a chocolaty blend of Kirby's Dream Land & Mega Man coated with a candy shell of Castlevania. It is indeed a delicious combination!

Love SNES but sick of Mario, Mario, and more Mario? GET KID DRACULA. It's a comical spoof on the Castlevania series. You get to fly, upside down ceiling walk, shoot little bats and fire balls, and several other powers too. The bosses are inventive and fun to battle. I am picky about games, but this is a gem. If you like vampires, or Mario, or any combination of the two, this game is right down your alley. Old school classic that no true gamer should miss.
